I'm at the point where no-one gets my faith, anymore. I've been let down by Lord British, the EQ Next team, Blizzard. Basically, I just assume everyone has gone to the Dark Side until they prove otherwise.

This. Back in the Starcraft, Diablo 1/2 days, I would have bought anything from Blizzard sight unseen. Those days are long gone. After that was Naughty Dog, but I've lost faith in them also - so much so I never played TLOU2, even though TLOU is probably one of my favorite games of all time.
The only company I can think of that I have faith in currently is FROM Software.

I have similar sentiments. I loved TLoU as well, but stuck to my principles and refused to buy or even play TLoU2. In the grand scheme I'm not sure people like you and I really make much difference because I don't really believe enough people stand by their principles. Hell, there are a couple franchises/studios that even I would struggle with divorcing myself from if they completely jumped the shark.

The price of the game has never really been an issue for anyone has it? It's all about shit design choices, shitty writing, that people take issue with.

I didnt buy 3 at launch and waited for reviews. It was so buggy Im glad I never did. I did preorder the WC3 remaster and it was so awful I returned it day 1. I quit Shadowlands after a week. Ive learned my lesson on new Blizzard games. Ill wait a couple weeks to purchase now.

Same. 4-5 people in my crew bought it, and I opted out because I already read the negative feedback on the design direction. The art direction just gave me a lot of pause as well.
1 guy ended up quitting in the first 24h and left the voicechat. "Sorry guys I can't do this".
Felt pretty vindicated after that.
