Bloat is true of almost any company of any decent size these days, gets worse the bigger they get. Mobile games are more of a license to print money than casino's, too, so 100m in the first month wouldn't even come close to surprising me. One of my brothers was pretty heavily into mobile games for a while and he knew multiple people who spent millions a year on various mobile games. It's really debatable, sure these AAA companies SPEND a ton to make their games but I would argue that their teams are filled with bloat they could cut at little to no reduction in quality.
Blizzard didn't invent the wheel with Diablo 3 / Immortal / Diablo 4, they made a successor to a franchise that already prints them money. They can realistically count on the fact that people will always buy their games. What was the revenue estimate on Immortal too, wasn't it like 100m in the first month of micro-transactions?
They sold early access to a completely known and described part of the game in the exact manner as they had done with their previous game to good effect. People bought it early, because it is a proven strat for that studio and/ or they wanted to be involved with the polishing that they do.
Oh I do not care much about preorders if I am getting the game anyway - so yes you are right. I hate Blizzard - you are right again!
BG3 was advertised completely in the beginning to be early access from a very bare minimum with warnings about such. Are you being obtuse on purpose because it's listed right on the front page.
They also let you know what is coming (Regardless if it has been for a while or not, it's right there)
A release target for launch:
Maybe I missed something here in our little tit for tat. Are you saying an open beta preorder bonus in the state Blizzard is in (A bunch of talentless whiney ass mentally unstable fucks who can't be half assed to hold onto a job in QA because their talent cannot even encompass filling out a 5 minute bug report without getting carpal tunnel and saying their hand got raped or their keyboard was racist) relying on the public to do their QA for them and paying for that on top of it - - equates to a well reputable publisher who needed the funds to make the game they wanted, launched a game early access, told everyone what the deal was about it, and gave them timelines and welcomed all their input on development for the final launch?
I have not purchased BG3 yet because I am waiting for the full game to launch. But if I was really passionate about it, I wouldn't have any qualms with myself or others who want to be a part of the development process. And they lay it out.
Also who said D4 is unfinished? I never said that. I do not know, nor care, what state it is in. What I find hilarious is what Blizzard has become bending to these mentally retarded jackoffs to the point they need to have the public test their game for them because their "employees" are protesting the office doesn't have gender neutral bathrooms or they actually have to show up to the office so people can see how worthless they really are, as the consumer does their job for them and these idiots somehow manage to stay employed.
Yes, BG3 was advertised as early access. Part of early access is helping them... bum bum bum... test their game! Holy shit, that's exactly what you are screaming is so immoral about the D4 pre-order beta stuff and what I said is hypocritical about it. You're not upset that companies are getting people to do their jobs for them, you're just here to bash on Blizzard. Which is fine, but if you're gonna bash on them, don't bash on them for doing the same shit that you praise other companies for doing.
Just logging in to see all the tranny character names (since I think all classes can gender swap) will be worth the money. Can’t wait to take Ms Ma’am the barbarian male into a pack of monsters.
Nice so I don't actually have to go pick up that sandwich, I can just pay a few bucks and get a code.Just got my code as soon as I placed the order.

You have to buy a double downWhat's the cheapest crap you can get there for a beta code?
You use to get some cool shit for your $5 too. Art books, action figures, beta access. Were pre-orders 20 years ago digital? I remember you pre-ordered to make sure you got the disc!
Website seems to say you can get a bacon & cheese combo, also. You have to buy a double down

Thats kinda my point, saying they "Cost" a lot is misleading since the cost is largely bloat. Back when the Diablo games were trailblazing, they were being run out of a garage if I recall, it's only after a bit that they were picked up by Blizzard North and then Diablo 2 was made under a similar small team. The teams for D3 and D4 / Immortal are massive in comparison. At this point these games could likely be done with a small team for max profits. IMHO they SHOULD be done with a smaller team, I believe struggle creates a better product because you are forced into a position of figuring out problems rather than pushing past them with money in easier ways that aren't as good.
Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, 20 years ago was 2003 and by that time the internet had taken out most the reason to pre-order at a store. The main reason you pre-ordered back in the day was because limited physical copies of software, eventually you'd get it but not on first release. Getting things like Zelda OOT was a chore for any person with a job and no pre-order.
