Not too sure how much longer we'll have this town going. It's a shame 15 people died last night! 2 people died on watch, which caused the 110-130 zombies to bypass those watchmen and nom on our citizens. We'll plan for Sunday. Perhaps give everyone a break for a week and start on June 2nd?

Oh is that how that works. We should have had more on watch I guess.

Its funny because I managed to log on before day change with some AP left. So I grabbed the hacksaw real quick and tried to bang out some stuff in the workshop, but DC hit so I got stuck with it. I was actually more worried about returning the hacksaw, but then realized I was raped in the night. haha

We should change our coalition name to "Raped in the Night".

The blueprints just fucking sucks. It's one thing to make the resources random, the spikes random, and the amount of available area random. But to include the layout of the town as random is just a kick to the fucking nuts.

Trust me, I agree in every sense. But a game is a game, regardless of difficulty level. I'm not here to have my hand held - I just want to help organize a bigger and better town with each attempt. Yes, we are pretty low in the totem pole. But each attempt we learn something new and become a little better and more efficient. There is no winning in this type of game. Sometimes RNG is going to kill Vorph and Yerm in the utmost ridiculous fasion - and I'm fine with that. It's not the game I play for, it's the story I can tell afterwards.

Vorph died. June 2nd will be our next attempt if everyone is fine with taking off a week. I will try and organize more information and recruit more people.

It does get a little annoying with the blueprints in particular, and the random bad luck (I got yerm'd the town before this one on like day 3, so fuck camping ever again), but overall I just sort of look at it as something to do for 15 minutes while at work, and then just check randomly for stuff like the forums and such. It has vastly more things to do than e-sim, except for the trolling I guess, the difference is that once you've spent your AP there isn't really a lot to stick around and watch if you're interested in people bitching or getting trolled, etc. Premium costs more than it should, but I can't really fathom playing without it at this point either, all the special abilities I've earned, losing them would ruin the game for me. But other than that, I enjoy it because it gives me something to check a couple of times during the day to relieve the boredom of working. So I'll continue on as long as you guys do.

Along those lines, I met a guy in a random town after I got yerm'd, and him and two or three of his friends (he's a hero, not sure if they are but I thought he said they were) would love to join. The reason I met him was that I went ghoul for the fuck of it, and he discovered and killed me, but he sent me a nice detailed PM about how he found me out, so that next time I could be more successful. He clearly knows the game very well, and seemed like a decent guy, although this was all via PMs, and I can't vouch for his friends at all, but if you want I'll ask if they want to join us for our next attempt. I don't believe he'd leave his friends behind, so we'd have to want up to 4 of them I think. Just let me know.

I was reading about the ghoul mechanic and it sounds like it would actually be a great benefit to the town. You could move through zombie invested zones with no chance of dying and recover stuff that we wouldn't otherwise be able to get once the ring of death closes in on the town. And a piece of meaty flesh or human remains every 2 - 3 days would keep you from dying. Plus hell we always have 1 -2 cock suckers in every town we could feed to the ghoul hehe

You mean move through zombie infested zones by running away? Since you can't die from infection, yeah.. the problem with ghoul is unpredictability, lack of human flesh and you're done for. Dead. However, those people that automatically get dehydrated could be eaten easily. Or people who go scavenge 1ap outside of town and never come back, we rescue them and they die from dehydration.

We ussually get a travelers corpse, but it's ussually locked in someone's house.

There's no winning this game, people need to get over that. You aresupposedto die. Its pretty obvious if you pay attention, that certain non-random effects always happen every town (like the fact you never get a variety of awesome weapons - we got two machetes this town, yet no lawnmower or mk2 launcher).

The point to this game is just to overcome what will always be some random fatal flaw.

As for the ghoul, it is mostly useful to us between towns. You join a random town, and when it starts failing, turn ghoul and eat people. You get hero days for each person you gobble up, then come back to the coalition when the next town is ready to roll.

It's not about 'beating the game', its about the fact that there is basically no skill involved. You just follow a very basic strategy and everything else is completely at the whim of the RNG.

Listening and leadership are two very important skills. Every town we have to make multiple adjustments to the game plan due to leadership screwing up (sorry guys, I try!) people not listening, or Sorionis taping copper pipes to his head. That's kind of the fun point to me, thinking on your feet.

Eh, there are limited resources, and so the choices on how to use them is really part of it. Using a single set of nuts and bolts for a coffee maker almost screwed us out of getting False Town built. I think the planning is part of it.
