Man I killed Griff just because I'm a monster that kills almost everyone for xp and loot. This game makes me do bad things

Lol, me too. Every magister, Griff, the arena keepers, even the chick that I later found out would take your source collar off - nothing like roleplaying a complete xenopsycopath.

Went with the same twosome for my first play through that I beat D:OS1 with. A rogue that I dip into a few schools for cc and movement abilites and a knight that I build as a meatshield and cc bomb. Even at low levels the rogue produces remarkable levels of rape on any foe without their back to a wall.

Only thing I dont like about lone wolfing it is that so much loot goes to waste -selling epic and unique items really bugs me to my core.

Heads up for any solo adventures in act 2 stoneyard graveyard there is a section where you open a tomb and get petrified. I turned both of my characters to rock thinking it was a turn based ailment and the game doesn't even end. It let me swap waypoints as a statue. Bug++. Luckily only lost like 15 minutes.

Some of these fights are getting hard first time I've had to set up properly pre fights from dying on initial encounter.

Ok is anyone else above L15 yet? The gear stats are starting to get super high. I'm over 2k pa/ma and like 4k hp. I swapped my incarnates for bone spider and they are doing much better damage (like 2-3x as much) and have like triple the mitigation.

If they keep scaling well I think I'm going to stick with a geo/war/nec/summoner hybrid and start rocking apotheosis for the big source casts.

I can just barely keep up with the latest gear costs as I level (3-5k items even with max barter for my level) / ability books playing duo lonewolf and the epic/legendary/unique items from level to level show their age super quickly so selling is the only choice unless you want to kill everything or constantly have to pickpocket. I got 4 pieces of loot from an encounter that was a level above me and the stats were insanely better like 30+ damage range.

The summons are starting to drop off pretty hard for me at L14 in Act 2 tact. I have them maxed out a 20 skill points and they are basically there to soak damage for a round while I gather up all the NPCs to reactive armor bomb on both my characters.

Might respec both of my characters out of summoning completely though soon.

There is a Summoning buff that supposedly prevents your Incarnate from despawning due to round time-out or death.

Yeah but it's temporary (2 turns I think) and cost source points. I basically have to waste an entire round summon + buffing which is no bueno.

The spider I swapped to has 2-3 times the stats of my buffed incarnates and requires nothing since it scales off of my summoning stat/levels as well. Much better to deal with and allows me to get a couple more actions in.

I'm crippled at character creation, want to go so many ways at once (tank, 2hander, rogue, bows, cleric) Want to do these necro/geo melee builds? But also wanting to make sure I can lockpick and yknow unlock content like other dude was saying. Then I find myself wanting to pump wits for those stats but have no idea if weapons have str requirements, what stats actually matter more. (In some games consitution adds fairly negligible total health even when focused)

Also no ones even mentioned playing metamorph once? Not popular?

Cant stand red princes voice, honestly dont like most of the characters based on the select screen. Elves too ugly/wierd. Ifan I like best but even then I dont get, ok lose interest in war etc, but I must kill the kings son? Dick move.

Fane almost seems most interesting but kinda loathe to try undead as a novice and I hear needing to remember to constantly keep his mask on?

One handed swords/axes/maces and two handed swords/axes/maces scale off of strength. Daggers/Bows/Crossbows/spears scale off of finesse. Shields toss scales off of Con indirectly because it takes its damage from the shields armor and you need con to equip shields. Staves/wands/pure magic damage scale off of int. The weapons also scale off their respective schools but there is crossover.

Poly is the ultimate dip for a couple of key abilities if you are a rogue/warrior/ranger archetype. It however doesn't really seem to reward much for going deep in to the tree. Basically you grab chicken, chameleon, wings, and maybe heart of steel.

Tentacle arms scales extremely well if you're strength.

It's important to note that physical skills from scoundrel/warfare scale based on your type of weapon. So you 2h strength tank can totally pick up say, sawtooth knife to have access to a bleed and it will still do a mountain of damage with str scaling. Same goes for warfare, your dex based rogue or whatever can learn ground slam and whirlwind just fine and have then scale properly.

Backstabs are exclusive to daggers only though.

Yah that's what I meant by scaling with respective schools, I just didn't want to go in to every different thing that could effect a weapon or skill. I mean spears alone can be warfare/twohanded/finesse, while still enabling melee CC abilities plus increased attack distance.

more specifically. warfare is ALL physical damage. including spells, such as necromancer.
same with the crit multi from scoundrel. all sources of damage.

God the little touches in this game are so great. Been carrying around the broken lute from Lohse since forever and randomly wander in to a dwarf that can fixed it. Makes a blessed lute, fuckin sweet! PLay it, and Lohse loses her mind and smashes it again then sits down and cries

Starting to think this bitch is going to fuck me over by the end.

Nice. I have not found the spider summon yet, but the Oil/Blob one was disappointing as it leaves globes of oil everywhere it moves/attacks.

Funny story about this, there's a spot in A2 where you encounter a swarm of those oil blobs all over. I thought what the hell, set them on fire right? They all die and become fire blobs, on a screen full of fire that never goes away. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit

How are you guys prioritizing your primary stats? I don't fret too much about it, but I can't help but feeling that I may be doing something wrong by dumping them (for the most part) in to whatever that characters primary damage stat is. I'm not having any problems in combat yet, but I'm only level 14.

I'm doing 2 1 1 Primary--> wit--> memory. If you are playing tactician your primary isn't con then you might need to sprinkle some in to con every couple levels depending on you build for some survival.

I feel like I'm missing so damn much in this game. More than half my quest log is stuff that just never seems to resolve fully no matter how much I scour maps.

Some of the quest tracking is just broken, and finished quests don't update to reflect that they're over. There's a patch due out very soon to fix a lot of them.

Playing lone wolf with 2x summoners on tactician, going pretty well thus far. once I hit lvl 4 and had 10 points in summoning it got pretty OP. Just let incarnate champion take care of things while running around hiding and summoning totems.

Swap to bone spider spiders they scale waaaay better. My incarnates at L15 were like 1kPA/1kMA/3kHP and hit for like 300 fully buffed when the spider comes out it's already like 1kPA/8kHP and hits for 700+ and needs no buffs.

I'm over 40 hours in and just started to crack through a bit over half of the areas in Act 2. I won't replay so I'm trying to be thorough as hell and there is just so effing much to see/read/do and now that I'm in the habit of popping my soul sight you realize there are even more NPCs to talk to and quests in areas I've completed. It's insane how much they packed into each area while also having full voice acting etc.

I've found it nice BECAUSE it leaves oil everywhere. Hell I've used it into a pack of melee mobs with my fire mage right in there just so I could supernova and get massive booms, ignited the oil, killed the blob, which then poured more oil to explode. Almost died but was worth it, it was a lot of damage(I had frost armour and my fire mage has like 40% fire resist so far, need to find more but it's not easy when also trying to maximize damage). But really the nice thing about it is it's just free damage for my warrior who otherwise wouldn't have a summon. Can use Artillery plant but need a source point and so far I haven't bothered using source skills other than Bless cause it feels not worth it and I hate the idea of having to go refill and whatever, but if there's a big boss fight I have a few decent ones I could slot maybe. Not a big fan of what they did with source skills tbh, I'd rather have 1 per fight/long out of fight cooldowns stuff than the whole alternate ressource.

I'm having a lot of fun with my fire wizard, it started kinda meh the early fire spells aren't so great but once you get to act2 spells you get a ton of damage spells(unlike most other schools besides earth, which still get random utility stuff) and with elemental affinity and standing in some fire you can cast 3-4spells a turn that do heavy aoe damage it's great. Since act2 I also got netherswap on both mages so I can really stack a bunch of stuff together for the aoe fiesta, my fire mage is now my highest damage dealer, assuming I can group mobs. Rogue still is great for killing a single target every turn though(and sleeping another or disarming rogues which is pretty neat) but the fire mage output when I go stand in some fire is crazy considering the way AP works now. Like in D:OS1/EE, elemental affinity was neat but not super impressive I thought, cause it was 1AP off spells costing 3-6AP and shit, but 1AP off 2/3AP spells is a lot bigger especially when you don't have 14AP per turn to play with but only 4-5.
