Hah, I use the same one on my knight Grim. It is an absolute wrecking ball.
Yeah, I am left wondering if its a testament to how great this game is, or an indication of how single minded the community is, when I see that so many players have such an extreme opinion on which skill combination is OP and which suck.

I've found that my 1 Tank, 1 Archer, 2 Mage party is very resilient, and my tank kicks as much butt as my mages. Sometimes more. Though I will say that the Archery line of skills/items needs a small amount of love.

Edit: In other news, this game is STILL #1 in the Top Sellers listing, on Steam. Looks like Larian has a winner this time around.

Edit 2: Oh yeah... 1K posts... It doesn't feel like I've made 1,000 posts. :|

Well I would agree with archery being a bit lack-luster. I will also say that their itemization needs a bit of work as well. My rogue has yet to get an artifact or unique (piercing) sword or bow meanwhile the number of unique and artifact axes, (slashing) swords and 2 handed weapons is up around a dozen.

I don't really care since backstab is so crazy powerful all on it's own even with a weaker weapon, but there is definitely an itemization disparity towards 2 handers and slashing weapons from what I have seen.

there are a ton of "OP" combos, yeah.
Agree, Im running Knight + Ranger with Madora and Jahan helping and my tanks + ranger can one shot almost anything thats not a boss at the moment doing what Raign + Grim are doing with the knockdown passive. I always preempt haste on tanks to try double knockdowns for the damage boost.

My friends are playing way different combos like Witch, Rogue + Jahan & Madora and are kicking ass also.

I find that charm is fairly useful. I've got rogue, madora, jahan, pyro/geo and the two summons + charmed mob my characters almost never get targetted.

Also, I read on the official forums that you can put a bunch of ore in a crate (especially if you have packmule on madora) then use telekenises to throw that crate at an enemy and it will do as much damage as it weighs, so 200-400+ dmg (depending on how much u can carry) per throw multiple times per round. I havent tried it but it takes the kraft award for cheesiest mechanic I've read about.

oh man must test that.

Stick an anvil in that 70lb sheeps corpse. Throw it at people...
Light it on fire. THEN throw it at people..

Oh wow, that is awesome. I must try that.

Charm arrows are an amazing way to start a lot of fights.. I can think of one summoner boss who has a friend with them that made the fight a whole lot easier....

Shoot a charm arrow at the Enslaved Cyclops Wizard in Evelyn's brood. All her other friends will kill it, and it has an large, on death, AoE + Stun

yeah it works. sortof. if you try putting ON targets it says "not enough space". but right next to them. hits for the weight.

I would call it an exploit currently. but would really like to see it reworked so it's more intended.
aka, throwing AT them should work. Better balance between TK and str.
For example my 13 str madara can is holding my 250lb sheep, but can't throw it. While my level 3 TK wizard throws it around for 2ap per action.
And right there, AP cost should scale with weight.

I wish I was an artist. A flaming, anvil stuffed, sheep corpse being dropped on a hapless Orc would make a great advertising picture.

This game is brilliant.

Im just in love with this game goddamnit
Me too. I had nothing going on this weekend past and totally lost myself in it for hours. First time that has happened in literally years.

I can't wait to see some of the stuff the community does with this as well. I have not played with the tools, but some of the scripting I have seen in game has been amazing so I have high hopes for user made content.

Do a full save before you turn the game off, move to a different spot and do a quick save. Few times now my saves have corrupted, latest being a black screen only with sound that eventually crashes, loaded up a slightly older save and worked fine.

Have you been using Exit Game, or just closing the window?

Jesus Christ, this game is a fucking CC festival. I like the general gameplay, but after a few days, it's getting really fucking annoying how much crowd control is being stacked onto you in every other battle. Half the encounters are designed so that you have to overcome three or four different attempts at CCing your characters, per fucking round, which almost always results in half your party being permanently stunned/frozen/blinded/knockdowned. It's so ridiculous. Game developers need to realize that losing control of your character(s) constantly and for long periods of time isn't good gameplay. Even if I make my melees immune to fear, charm and frozen, they'll just get knocked down or stunned or some shit. It's just straight up retarded how many ways you can be disabled for three rounds, how often enemies will use these, and how easily they land.

Do people really just close the program? No I always exit game.

Do it to them first, if your entire team doesn't get to go first you are doing it wrong, invest in some leadership points.

This. It is even more important when you are running with only 2 characters. You let yourself get cc'd and it is likely game over. Lots of counter measures available for cc, not the least of which is the most obvious (yet probably the biggest offender) of "don't stand out in the open where 5 different cc'ing mobs have line of sight on you at a one time". Force them to bottleneck through terrain and cc the hell out of them first.

This game needs a eq enchanter: mez, color spray, mez, etc etc

That being said, the last 10-15yrs of rpgs that hold your hand... I can see where folks might have a little frustration w/ Original Sin, at the start.

Also, how do you maximize knock down chance when fighters charge? My success rate for knockdown is pitiful... Character optimization is for shit also, as I did NOT realize how stingy the game was going to be with advancement. 2nd play thru will be very interesting.

Str for fighter I think. like 115% chance to knockdown. from 10 str or whatever. But, thats 115% into their resists of lets say 30% resist to KD. SO, only 85% of actually KD, minus miss rate, and outright immune.
Something like that.

the witch is your magic CC/debuff specialist.

A lot of the scrolls are useful for clearing/preventing CC. Spread them out on your characters. Ice/electric fields are really good for AoE CC as you can get immunity to them and mobs have to save multiple times when they run through them. Debuffing bodybuilding will help knockdown chance. Do all of the skills soft cap at 5?
