Stuck at the stupid weresheep, shears actually haven't spawned in my game ever that I am aware of, and I refuse to move on without weresheep armor =\

Is there some specific place to find shears, or did I just lose the lotto?
Only thing I found in a bit of googling was this: "There was a miner in Silverglen standing by the bar who sold one!"

However, I'm fairly certain those loot tables are randomized (and change every time you level/reload if you haven't interacted with them since your last save). Nobody anywhere mentioned a "you can always find shears HERE" location, tragically.

Yeah, it's completely random. I found some shears in a crate in Cyseal once. And I've never seen any shears since.

Wool problem solved, you can intimidate him in to just giving you wool with enough charisma apparently.

Does that ghostly baron greevix guy in the lava temple actually do anything?

I got the shears, had to look up where the sheep itself was. Saddens me that there is essentially no high level Man-at-Arms books.... at all.

All you need is flurry for man at arms. Oneshots nearly everything in the game with a decent setup.

This game went completely under my radar until just a few days ago. Many seem to by hyping this up, and the few videos I've seen of it seem pretty good. What is the general verdict of it here? Worth a purchase if you like RPGs?

If you like tactical turn based rpgs, then yes. I didn't have a pc around the time of baulder's gate and fallout 1/2 so I can't compare it directly to those, but from what I understand its similar to those. The length of the game seems really good, I believe people say around 60 hours, I've spent at least 20 on the first map and I think there are 4? maps. So if you figure there is less content in subsequent maps as games typically do, it'll still put the game around 60 hours. And then there is the dev kit and the game has become hugely popular so you can expect all sorts of additional player generated content after that.
The game can be a little slow at the start because you are thrown into the first big town very early and it takes some time exploring there and talking to people, but once you are done with that its a very nice pace of battling, party management, and npc interaction.

More tool set tutorials are now up, along with what must be the patches to unlock the functionality they describe. Because until recently, it was a bitch to touch any scripting/dialogue.

60 hours of gameplay eh? That should take me about.... 4 years to complete considering how much time I'm spending gaming these days lol. Might just get it during a steam sale.

Actually yeah, if you don't have much time to play it can be very discouraging playing the game because it'll feel like you got nothing done in the small time you played and lots of things/quests are tied together so you may not remember a hint you were told or an item you picked up a month ago.

I'm at 60hours now, and have not started the 4th map yet.
Level 14 out of 20-23.

Remembering can be a problem. Since this game does NOT have giant "go here, click this" tags for quests.
But does have transcripts of all your conversations logged, under dialogues. in your quest journel.

Its very similar to BG2. The story isn't as tight and the tone is more "zany" than "srs rpg role-play". But larian does zany very well (their jokes actually land. So many of them are really simple things that you do/see and then about a 10 seconds later you go, "heh!") But until Obsidian releases theirs... this is the closest thing to BG2.

The length of it is kind of ridiculous. 60 hours, yeah, sounds about right. It is tempting to look at some of the balance issues and some of the (very, very few) broken scripts/quests and forget about the 98% of this game that actually -works-.

If there's anyone out there that can deliver a Dark Waters quality mod for this... if that Neverwinter base still exists... Larian really might have just farted in obsidians face.

Feast or Famine.

This game is making me feel occasionally dumb. I did sooo much prior to when I was "supposed" to break that barrier. I'm level 14 now and explored almost the entirety of the 2nd map, to include handling the situation in the mines and Maradino's hideout. Somehow I completely missed the mushrooms giving you a hint for where to look for the spell that breaks the barrier...

lol, it's funny cuz in the first map where you go towards the orcs and there are all the mines on the ground. I swear I spent a good hour just getting to the orcs. I'd run...hit a mine, lose 80% of my hp...I'd sit there and regen all my chars up to 100%.....only to hit another mine...and do it all over again.

Then I was like...wait a min, I could just un-chain my chars and do 1 at a time...unfortunately I already spent a good ~hour before I figured that out. fuck my life....

either way, this game fucking rocks. I'm like ~15 hours in single player and I've replayed a good ~8 hours playing with my brother with a different character...I love it.

I skipped black cove because i was too derp to figure it out or bother reading - i think at that point during the day i was tired of text - plus my partner contested me on the talking head convo and caused me to answer wrong on something so i killed the ghost in there instead. I think i got stuck figure out what to do with the switches and said fuck it and moved on.

Also where the hell can i find magical unlock or this mystical person with skill/ability books i keep hearing about
