Did the same, figured I'd stumble across the solution so just kept wandering and blasting anything in my way. I had no idea what was going on or what I was supposed to do for pretty much the entire game.I did sooo much prior to when I was "supposed" to break that barrier.
This pleases me to hear. Looks like I will be grabbing this soon! Thanks!Well I'm at 40hours and I think I'm about halfway through or so. I spent like 10hours finding the classes I wanted to play though and I explore everything fully. 20hours seems extremely short, even skipping stuff I don't know how much you can skip with the limited xp and stuff. Maybe on easy and you just blast through every fight in 2rounds and shit but if you're actually trying to play the game it'd definitely take longer.
I'm 37 hours deep and I'm maybe halfway done with the second major zone. There are a few "level check" fights in the main story I don't see how you'd complete if you haven't been actively doing sidequests. So, what is the consensus on how long this game takes to beat? I have heard ranges from 20 hours up to people clocking in at over 100.
I am going to be picking up a new game on Friday and have been leaning towards this.
I agree with you here. The game is pretty rough at the start (it didn't help I had no idea I could recruit more companions) but then smooths out. But then every so often you'll get into a storyline driven fight that is a real pain in the ass and you have to just kind of get lucky to not get frozen/stunned/slowed and hope your knockdown/stun/charm works.I beat it somewhere around 80 hours and did almost every side quest I came across. I put it on hard, but all that really did was made the game front loaded on difficulty. By the time I was 6-8 and had a wide variety of skills, there were few true challenges (but they were there!). Quick save is your friend. I wouldn't recommend trying to play the game with a "hardcore" or no save/no death play style.
Overall, I couldn't recommend the game more if you enjoy RPGs, especially turn based. Much of the writing is campy, but I attribute that to Larian being a euro studio with a foreign (to Americans anyway) sense of humor. If you've played any of the previousDivinitygames you know what you're in for as far as writing goes.
