i really cant comment on these 2 parters anymore without seeing the second part. those sonic sunglasses in action suck giant balls and it feels like they rebooted the waters of mars episode with tennant and gave it to capaldi to try out. actually they do this alot, those clone creatures with matt smith and then the spaceship that visited satan with eccelston as doctor.

Yeah except Waters of Mars is one of the best episodes ever... this one I can't remember a few days later. Space Satan was also one of the best.

yep, those earlier episodes are better, but basically share the same premise. crew of x starts being taken over by an "evil" entity which steals their body/likeness and attempt to kill the other crew members+Doctor&companion. its a common occurance on this show and happens at least once with each doctor.

Space Satan will always be one of my favorites just for the whole concept of an actual living evil being in the universe being responsible for the "devil" type figure found in many religions throughout space.

First episode with the angels was baller. But then pretty much all of Tennant's run was great.

some of his martha jones episodes are questionable. the lazurus dude who was martha's sister's boss or some such comes to mind.

-edit
i need to take some of that back, most of my favorite Who episodes are tennant/martha era. daleks in manhatten, the kitty cats in new new new new york(gridlock?) he had some stinkers with her too, but i have watched those awesome ones several times. shit i might check out Gridlock again. Dr Yano as well.

Lazurus dude is Mark Gatiss. Fucking legend. Though I really really wish he wouldn't write Doctor Who eps. The only good one imo was the Churchill ep.

I agree about Gridlocked. Personally one of my top 10-20 eps from all 50 years.

Oh I see what you mean, you're right. I never realised it until now because those episodes were great for reasons other than the possession plot, the clone thing was actually decent but this one was shite.

Too many questions. Thought this was a Pyramid of Mars homage, but the Fisher King just turned out to be one massive red herring instead of Sutekh.

Wasn't a bad episode at all. Just felt there was a lot of wasted characters and lore.

I am a Matt Smith fan , but it was nice to see them actually address the bootstrap paradox openly rather than simply abuse t like smiths tenure did constantly. I like the capaldi episodes because they remind me of more of the classic ones. Tennant (Donna episodes and End of Time aside) were mostly Twilight like bullshit with Rose. I mean the show would have to right in on CW. Asshole Doctor is the best doctor.

PS Twelve Monkeys is the best fictional portrayal of the bootstrap paradox, aside from Sarrqh Connor Chronicles alternative timeline shit.

Solid episode, but a little disappointing for Masie. Thought for a bit they might tie the second immortality device to Captain Jack. Thought the best part of the episode was when The Doctor was translating for the baby. Next week looks stupid from the short preview. Should have had her come back towards the end of the season. Hope I'm wrong on next week. Season is still better than last year.

I have this small dream where Maisie Williams has enough leeway in her filming schedule to become the next companion...

the episode ends with "to be continued" yet next week seems to be a separate episode. very odd. yes the way she came back is exactly how capt jack resurrects himself. i think we see maisie again. i think this was a decent episode, though the immortal thingy all of a sudden being introduced, seems a little contrived, makes you wonder why it hasnt been used before. at least it hasnt been used in the rebooted series, not sure if it was a thing before that.

I thought that odd as well...no real reason to continue it. (2 separate stories with same character is all)
