It's not possible to retire later than 65 if you've worked a physical job your entire life. We're either going to have to start burying the old alive or reworking wealth distribution. I'll get the shovel.

edit: Small addendum: Someone who works 40 years straight in any capacity should have more than enough socked to maintain life and relative dignity. It's just that among the current crop of retirees if you're not balling out of control with 6 rental properties and taking vacations every 3 months you've somehow failed. Retirement beginning with a scaling back of expenses will become a bigger trend. Living with someone else, SSI is a manageable income.

And that's why I'm going to keep pushing for giving any girl/woman over the age of 12 a cash payment every time they have a contraceptive implant put in place. Some people should not procreate, and offering them money to make it impossible to do so will self select those individuals while neatly dodging the whole free will issue.
