im sorry, isn't that the kind of horseshit being crammed into FPS that doom 2016 was a revolt from? I mean, granted I was super suspect about the canned animation kills in the doom2016 trailers. and was pleasantly surprised how well that came out.
Incidentally, I went back and played SPace marine recently, and it in 2011 had a precurser to the doom melee kills. it was AWFUL in that. It lacked the forward momentum, and did not make you invulnerable during the kills. so you would often die or lose as much life doing a melee kill, that you would get back in life from the kill.

My thoughts exactly. The reason 2016 was so good, because it didn't do all that "modern era" bullshit. The joy was in the simplicity of being dropped into a linear mission and splattering demons the size of dump truck across your screen. It was fast, it was fluid, and heart pounding.
An upgradeable home base? Sounds like fgt shit to me.

Based on MTX bullshit Bethesda is going to throw in this and the culling of the map editor to repackage and sell and tie that into their Creation bullshit and charge for maps on top of that, I'd say a solid 8.0 for gameplay, driven down to about 2-3 because of Bethesda's heavy handed involvement.
Now, the game itself without Bethesda's involvement would have been fine. It's what they are going to cut and repackage in the MTX system outside of cosmetics that will REALLY piss people off. Which I think people also need to remember, ID is NO MORE. They are a fully owned Zenimax Media sub. Of which Bethesda Softworks controls the publishing rights and why this thing was delayed. They saw a way to make money off the map editor.

I don't know where you got any of this from at all, they said snapmap isn't making a return. It's not even running on the same engine, let alone the fact that snapmap ran off of the multiplayer version of Doom which was a completely seperate game with a completely seperate dev team (saber). Which is why it felt so fucking wonky. There was an interview when the game was first announced where they said modding is probable in the future with the way they built id tech 7, especially with megatextures being gone, but it likely won't be anytime near launch.
Depending on the quality of the additions to the campaign, I'm fine with paying 5$ for more official basically expansion content just like I was for the Witcher, or Dark Souls. I know Bethesda are full of cucks but they mostly only stick to ruining their own games.
They've completely said several times snapmap isn't in the game, or even in the engine, which I'm bummed about - but you're just making shit up saying they're going to add it later for muh money.
