20s finger is the most overrated change in the patch.

Early on, you won't have Aghs and you won't have mana to finger twice.

Later on, engagements don't last over 20 seconds, and you still might not have mana to finger twice.

Boots and MoM 20 minutes in, why the fuck do voids have such a hardon for it so early anyway? If you can farm, go BF, if you need to fight, maelstrom

Probably because it's in the guide and people don't dare stray away from what it tells them to build.

That's awesome, but if the enemy silencer, zeus, and furion have refresher and aghs by that point it's just trollin

lol @ that. I have been trolling w Zues getting quick Anganims into refresher (and Veil for lulz). The last game i played him I killed a drow and stole her Divine Rapier, it was hilarious. Was just destroying shit after that with chain lighting into W then ult and auto attack anything left standing.

Also, Lion is pretty badass now. If you throw a Veil on him along with Scepter and a dagon you can pump out like 2200 damage in less than 2 seconds, every 20 seconds. That guy is an asshole now lol. Anyone who decides to fight you better have full health and be tanky because if not they are dying no matter what. I also had a Lina on my team last game so it was really lulzy with Laguna blade.

edit: I dunno man, maybe its because Im playing lower skilled players but I have been having a blast playing Lion now. He can control a lane pretty respectably and his mana drain w Tranquil boots let you stay in lane strong and farm comfortably enough to actually get a scepter at a decent time in the game.

I'm by no means a pro player, but in the games I play in, if Lion has a scepter, a dagon, and a veil, it's because the other team is terrible and he has done minimal (if any) supporting of his team all game. No way you're gonna get all that in a remotely even matchup, at least not while they're still relevant.

Lion is still 1 stun away from free gold, force staff or blink are pretty much core on him if you are playing against people with a clue.

7 games in a row lost, guess I need to start playing higher impact heroes again instead of just running around warding/pulling/stacking. Most of them were lineup wins, 1 carry vs 2+NP and shit like that, can't win past 30 minutes, especially when our carry does dumb shit or can't farm (Medusa finishing Linken's 30 minutes in as first item...)

Well that particular setup would be ok even against stuns since it basically relies on just the main burst to drop a hero instantly and the items are instant+finger is only .4secs or whatever so a stun would be too late most of the time. Wouldn't play that though and no idea how you end up with that many items unless game is 50+ mins and you've been farming quite a lot and not supporting(which is quite fine if there's another support in the team). Would much rather go forcestaff+blink over dagon+veil, keep the agh for health/mana. Blink hex is still one of the big advantage of the hero, as it generally means no one is safe anywhere on the map even with a bkb due to the long hex into stun+massive burst on low cd, so it makes carries farming require multiple people sitting behind them. Force staff is to get the fuck out.

Anyway overall he's a great hero but his laning is kinda meh unless you solo. If you happen to be in a side lane with no one and you can just pull/stack for 10mins he's just fine too but his dmg output early on is fairly low and hex kinda sucks at low ranks(short duration and high mana cost) while mana drain feels like you need too many points for it to be really good but you don't want to put that many points unless you're soloing. Makes it hard to contest trilanes or kill dual lanes with his low health/movement speed. Assuming you get past the laning phase in a decent state though he's super strong.

This is my experience in almost every game. I shamelessly pick carries, even if we have 4 already, if I want to break a losing streak (likely due to not picking carries). The vast majority of people I play with in pubs have either no skill to last hit/farm or no clue because they're new. That's just the reality of matchmaking.

On that note, I'm convinced that when I get on a long winning streak (5-10 games in a row) I get put with new players (account levels 1-3, etc) in the next 5-10 games. Anybody else have this experience?

Well, picked BH and 15 minutes in roughly even game, the muted Huskar who was playing on my team and spamming Well Played! ragequit.

I find its easiest to carry with mid OD. He wins practically every matchup and is a beast mid/late.

Any time I play OD the other team gets pugna and I hate my life for the next 30-45 minutes.

Really loved watching Mushi on Orange play Sand King mid. With this meta of lots of melee mid picks like DK and Kunkka, Sand King can really do well vs those heroes esp with the bottle crow nerf.

Loving the Medusa ult change, I know it only works in the low bracket but farming ancients with lvl 1 Medusa and getting midas in 6 minutes and skadi in 20 then raping face is great fun.

I've never done the medusa level 1 ancient farm, but getting a midas seems bad since midas doesn't work on ancients, no?
