No, that's false. They can only test for pre-employment. Otherwise randomized testing has been thrown out by the courts for the most part, except in cases where accidents happened and drug use is suspected (so that's not really random). Otherwise it's considered an invasion of privacy. I know numerous people who work up north in the oil sands that smoke pot on the regular (not while working), and they have zero issues. Hence why drugs are so rampant in the camps and they have sniffing dogs etc. They have zero tolerance for a dog setting off on someone's clothing, even if drugs are not actually found, though.We have drug testing depending on the employer in Canada.....just like the US.
