I watched it and didn't get all the hype. It was boring and the acting is mediocre. The CGI and battle scenes were fine, but it all looks the same after awhile. It was at least more watchable than Rebel Moon part 2.

This is more because of Denis than anything. I assume he has an allergy to dramatic overacting because nearly every character in all of his movies feels pretty mundane and subdued. That's exactly why I like all his movies so much. His stuff feels closer to real life, in the way people talk and use facial expressions, than most movies.

Danny loves the cinematic spectacle. The actors just feel along for the visual ride. He very much gets that movies are show don't tell. And on top of that, he doesn't have some annoying gimmick he likes to shove all over audiences, like JJ's lens flare and absolute visual nonsense, snyder's slow motion fetish, or jackson's weird foot fetish and love of including stomping in every movie.

But that May 1994 edition is burned into my brain. Shae Marks was the playmate and Elle Mcpherson on the cover with a spread on the inside. I think it also had a girls of the PAC10 or something in there too. But that may have been a different one.
