So upgrading shield is actually useful now(sorta) and they nerfed mimic tear before I even got to really abuse it, so at least it's not something I'll miss. I wonder if they nerfed that rune farm where the big chicken commits suicide after you hit it with an arrow.

That’s a cool addition. Once I was looking for a specific merchant I forgot to mark in the map, I could find him and it was driving me fucking nuts so I spent like 30 minutes going to every fucking site on the map.Tested bird farm. It still works as before. Surprised they didnt nerf it. Did notice on the map when you hover over a point of grace it tells you the friendly NPCs in the area.
Update, I was farming some exp and waiting to get summoned to help people with endgame bosses (unfortunately, every time I got summoned, the host would die to something stupid on the way to the bosses...every goddamn time). Also had the blue ring activated to get summoned to help people with invaders, but never got summoned for that unfortunately.
Went back to the Roundtable Hold with like 12 million souls on me and got a "The Twin Maiden Husks have new items for sale" message that I've never gotten before when zoning in. Checked out their inventory and they had a Talisman Pouch (aka the one I missed) for sale for 500, plus a few spells I haven't seen anywhere else. I don't think those things were there before and I have no idea what triggered their arrival. The only other thing I did besides farm 12 million souls was that I defeated the last two Evergaols that I missed. So additional items are triggered there by either A) Clearing all the Evergaols or B) Lugging around a massive amount of souls.
I killed the gate opening guy because I learned he sold some items that you can't get anywhere else. Like the basic buckler.
He had more quest though? Damn.
Since we are now a couple weeks after release, I will just spoil the new questlines for those who want to know. Kenneth Haight, Nepehli Loux and Gatekeeper Gostoc's quests all converge together. Go back to Kenneth Haight (all NPC's are now marked on your map, YAY), in East Limgrave. Talk to him, he will teleport back to his fort in the south. There will be some Demihumans of low level there. Just clear them and ascend to the ramparts, and you will find him again there. He tells you he is not worth of ascending you to knighthood (whatever that may mean) and he needs to find a new ruler for Limgrave who is not Godrick. After killing Godrick, Gatekeeper Gostoc will move to the room where you fight him, and stamp on his remains. Go to Roundtable after doing all of Nepheli's questline (Godrick + Village of the Albinaurics), and don't give her Seluvis's potion. Instead give her the Stormhawk Ashes you get from the tutorial area that you can go back to using the Four Belfries. Exhaust dialogue, teleport back to Godrick room. Rest at the Grace there to reset the area. All three NPC's will now move into Godrick's throne room. Exhaust Nepehli's dialogue and she will give you an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. Kenneth Haight doesn't seem to do anything else. He says he will go back to his fort, but he just sticks around. Gostoc is now in the back of the room as a merchant again. He will have another Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for sale for 20k.
Diallos's questline picks up in Jarburg, working on that one now.
This can at least be remedied. You can atone for this kind of sin. But some things you can't atone for. Like the shit I've done. Goddammit.
It resets any NPC you made hostile, and will revive any you murdered. I don' think it will revive them if they died via progression, or a quest.Atonement brings dead npc's back to life?
