I think I'm near the end. I killed Fire Giant* last night, but haven't spoken to Milena at the grace point there yet. I think that's the part that leads to the final fight yes? So I just have that and Haligtree to still do. I've putzed around in Haligtree and between the fog and the enemies, I'm not really looking forward to it. Should I do Haligtree before the Elden Beast? Does it matter?

So I'm kind of sick of colossal swords due to their slow ass animations, but I'd like to stay STR if possible. Are there any Straight Sword/Greatsword/etc STR builds that are good? I already have the Nightrider's Glaive leveled, but it isn't my favorite.

Blashphemous Blade is what I'm using. STR/FAI Greatsword with an absolutely awesome L2 attack and it heals you with every kill.

Check out the big spiked mace, I had a lot of success with that thing as a big STR build. It's a great hammer class I believe, so significantly faster than colossals, but still a bit clunky. The lifesteal on it is top notch though and gets very decent STR scaling with heavy infusion.
Can't go wrong with a heavy infused claymore if you just want generic greatsword goodness. The issue you'll run in to though is most greatswords are largely set up for quality builds rather than pure STR. I think the best STR only scaling you'll find is the sword the misbegotten hero guys drop? The one that was initially a boss all the way back in limgrave.
Otherwise if you're doing any FAI the magma wurm sword and crucible knight greatsword are both great as well.

Bloody Helice is an arcane scaling weapon (for both damage and the amount of bleed build-up) with dex as its secondary. Ridiculously OP too if you use the War Cry exploit to change its moveset.
Blasphemous Blade powerstanced with Sword of Milos is what I ended up shifting my faith build over to. But that's heavy faith with balanced str/dex for it to shine, so I wouldn't call it a str build at all really. Something like 80 faith/40 str/40 dex ideally (40 is a damage softcap for str/dex and dex 40 with radagon's icon hardcaps cast speed). Sacred Relic Sword becomes extremely strong as a trash-clearing/rune-farming alternative with that stat spread too.

I'd do haligtree first. Beating the boss of Farum breaks a ton of shit like NPC questlines etc. I'm not entirely sure if it could fuck anything specific to the Haligtree, but given how disruptive it is for the rest of the game I wouldn't wanna risk it.

Going to guess that she was a mounted boss fight and they cut that part of the quest, since you find her with her dead wolf that your Roundtable allies killed.
So she still has code to mount up.

Or maybe they wrote the code on the summons to do that? It’s badass they put in extra details in their games like this, why even speculate on if it was an accident in this one case lol. The fact the enemy lost its health bar and it started working just fine seems like it was added purposefully.

If you have any intention of going platinum - do ranni’s quest completely and make sure to get the legendary ash of that island at the end.
also make sure you get all legendary talismans and arms before advancing at the cauldron. And incantations as well. Also kill all the bosses you need to. After that then go nuts. This way when you do new journey 2 you will be able to fly through for the other ending in about four hours and in journey 3 for the 3rd ending in about the same time.
