Usually large bosses are "easier" on horse but take longer, because there are fewer openings on horse. General Radahn was taking so long on horse for me that I just gave up and learned the dodging on foot. Fight was literally 10x faster on foot.

They pretty much two shot anyone. They'd even 2 shot my heavy armor chonky boi. Their attacks are super easy to dodge so wait until they attack, dodge, hit them a couple times, rinse and repeat.

Kite him around the tree with a bow and arrow. Just stay on your horse and sit there and take pot shots. That's what I did for at least the first couple that I killed now at this point I'm high enough level where I can go in and melee them but I'm level 100 ish.

Waaaaah this game is too easy. But also it's too hard. I've never played an open world game with shitloads of build variety and the ability to out level encounters.

It's become a mini game of what monsters I can abuse with a bow and figuring out terrain and distances that allow me to sit there and just whittle them down. Those tree guardians are one of the easier monsters if you just sit there and shoot them. Just have to watch out for the magic missile barrage that they'll throw at you, but you can run behind the roots of the tree.
Not so proud to use whatever cheap tactics I can to down something.

No it's pretty shitty.
I just kept upgrading the horn bow, and put the great shot Ash of war on it. Changing out the arrows to some of the special ones seems to be at least be little bit more helpful, especially for a bigger Target. I'm going strength faith but I've got enough dex to use certain weapons . It seems that with the ash of war, I can do 250 a shot, and maybe 1:30 to 150 for regular shot. The damage is pretty lackluster but hey it works.
I guess at this point if it's looks like it's going to take a long time or more arrows than you have in your inventory, I'll use it to get their health about halfway and then go and start duking it out. It's definitely become more of softening up harder targets, and just using it as a means of convenience to pick off random trash mobs when I'm trying to clear through something.
I'd be curious to know if there is a decent bow build or if there's something I'm missing. I just can't imagine it being viable against some of the closer fights and more congested dungeons you end up going into.

Head shot damage on small enemies works well, but for general usage yeah bow damage is pretty bad.

No need to feel shame with what you use to kill enemies, especially when you get to the later part of the game and bosses have "fuck you" attacks and combos.

Damn man, that whole Consecrated Snowfield -> Haligtree area is insanely difficult for a melee only build. Made it all the way to the boss but went back to grab missed stuff and re-realized how much of a pain it is.
Definitely helping my parry ability but aside from that, fuck that place. Killing Malenia is going to feel great and then I'm never going back there, haha.

No but I'll check him out, he's the only one that i've seen do these long indepth reviews. he has a 5 hour review of Witcher 2... i haven't watched it because I never played that game but I imagine that's just too much review.

I started as Str/Faith, mostly just using faith for utility but yeah it was a slog until mid/late game when I respecced to INT and the game was a lot easier... but I still died a shitload to bosses and I found the trash areas a lot more fun. That fog ring effect spell that reduces aggro range is so damn nice, I found myself using it a lot just so I wouldn't get annoyed by all the damn sniper enemies you see everywhere. If they added some really heavy armor that reduces aggro range I'd be way more open to trying STR or DEX build again if I replay it later on, otherwise Ima just roll INT from the start because I have nothing to prove lol.

His cyberpunk review is insane, first hour is him explaining to only watch 1-3 of his cyberpunk reviews and then watch the last part. All together it is like 9 hours or something like that...
Anyways, elden ring done had me playing Sekiro resurrection mod and holy shit is it hard. All the new boss moves and enemy placement makes for a rough go.
Might go back soon and try a spell only run or something like that.
