Best way to deal with Haligtree is just to run past everything grabbing sites until you reach Loretta. The tree area is just straight up retarded.

The rest is pretty cool and has some good stuff.

I was power stancing some holy weapons, and since those death birds are weak to holy, I wrecked it.

Yeah the branches aren't even 1/4 of the way through lol, it's actually two dungeons.

I really enjoyed the 2nd dungeon actually, first one is horrific. I still can't beat the boss.

Of course you're right. However, for the first time in something like 120 hours of playing this game I am not having fun. I concede that I could just get better and be perfect and that she is an optional hidden boss and is supposed to be hard. I still said the game is 10/10. That doesn't make her design good or the fight anything other than dick-slamming frustrating.

RE: branches in haligtree, get a greatbow or ballista. The bolts from those have huge knockdown/knockback effects and you can blast every trumpet fag off their branch from a safe distance.

Same, I did not like that at all. I even saw items in the distance and said “don’t care” for the first time. I ended up just running through it all, got to Loretta, one shot it luckily. The area past that boss has been great. The layout, the colors, the mobs, were just fucking terrible in the first area.

Agreed although I only dipped my feet and maybe got 1 or 2 grace sites before I dipped.

If I continue with the Fire Giant and beyond will I still be able to go back before I finish the game?

Well the fire giant yes. I killed him before I went to Haligtree. Beyond him is just the Haligtree I think. I killed him then did the other half of the snow area which led me to HT.

Just got my taste of Malenia, managed to push her into phase 2 in 1 out of my roughly 8 attempts....phase 1 is not too bad as I can get her low but I swear the lower her health gets the more dodgy she becomes and as a melee I kept whiffing my swings somehow while she was up in my grill. Found that using a bleeding weapon + frost can put a nice hurt on her when I was actually hitting her consecutively.
