I guess that's why I was frustrated that I couldn't get his shop. I wonder why you lose out on that one particular item.

Not sure but I missed it and just found him in Godricks area way later and killed him to buy the buckler from the twin maidens. (Definitely had to look that one up though, thought I missed out on it completely)

my last playthrough I couldnt figure out how to get him to sell me shit before completing the nepheli quest with that other dude that asks you to take over the fort so I had to kill him too. is there a way to get him to sell the buckler before that?

You have to buy it from him before you beat godrick while he is still at the gate.

like when you first meet him and you have to choose to open the gate or go the long way around? I thought I tried to buy from him last time after I had him open the gate and he wouldnt let me. idk maybe didnt go through all his dialog or something. guess not a big deal one way or another I sucked at parrying even with buckler and will prob never try a parry run ever again

There is a site of grace right above there near where you open the gate you can drop down and see him then. Or you can probably just fast travel then go back to him and his shop might be open, alot of quests work if you fast travel or rest and return.

I’m 99% positive he vendored for me after killing Godrick. Either in Godricks fight room, or the throne room after Nepheli takes it.

he definitely becomes a vendor after nepheli moves ot the throne. i think he ceases to be a vendor when he's kicking godrick's bits around in anger. so you have to talk to him prior to that. who knows when the break point is though.

Saw this guy owning the Crucible Knight. Not sure if that summonable one is different. But I guess this counts as "git gud" and not cheesing.

1. How is he parrying with a sword?
2. How is he able to have a jumping attack that goes so far?

1. Ash of War: Parry
2. Looks like a Dragon incantation , but the jump isn't that far, the knight is making a charge attack when he's mid-air.

I think we all ran into that and there are just a few areas that it’s best to just not try to fight the enemies in that area. The ruins you first come upon in the snow area, the town area in the snow, and the branches in the Haligtree (if you decide to go there, that is whole place is optional).

I may be forgetting an area or two but most of the late game stuff outside of those, while stronger than previous areas, are fair. Those areas I mentioned are the places I felt like they were “cheap” and just ran by stuff instead.

The town north of the snowfield where you have to light the torches was the single worst area in the game for me. It was basically the Anor Londo archers, just this one section that was a massive pain in the ass. I ended up sniping the archers off the roofs with Radahn's greatarrows (which have lots of knockback) just to run past them.

Haligtree is probably the highest-level area in the game, aside from maybe Crumbling Farum Azula. Those two are the highest tier, with Mountaintops of the Giants and Moghwyn Palace a tier below them. So for the people asking if the game keeps ramping up after Haligtree, I don't think so. It's kind of lateral from there to CFA and I'd even argue Haligtree is more difficult.

Was going to switch to Dark Moon Great Sword today but going through my meager stash of talismans was saddening. Seeing as I missed doing the questline for Magic Scorpion Charm before finnishing Rannis quest means I missed out on that one? Working toward the Alexander Shard but not quite there yet story wise.
