Faces look pretty good other than the Beth death stare, but that's every Beth game ever released, IMO.

Glad the OG lockpicking and rep-boosting systems made it in as-is.

Ugh, installing with gamepass on xbx, it's 123 GB ??? Skyrim is 43 GB. Dafuq, them red portals made of giga-pixels?

Do I roll a cat, orc or elf on a shelf? I can't remember jack about this game other than red portals, big ass Daedra and endless mobs in there, getting lost. And some old Pentium getting hot and fan running max.

Hmm, played the shit out of Daggerfall back in the day. Morrowind I semi skipped (for shaaame). Gonna give this a go. 64.6% dl'ed now. Comon comon comon comon.

Dark Elves or Bretons are probably the meta - Dark Elves have 75% innate fire resistance, and there's a fuckton of fire damage in Oblivion. Bretons get 50% passive resist to all magic.

This assumes they haven't changed any passives, though.

I always play Argonian.

This was kind of a let down for me back in the day after Morrowind; it just didn't hit the same way. I wouldn't buy it with all the Bethesda BS going on but I will download it from GamePass, so well done MS spending billions there.

Edit: After 15 min I am already annoyed enough that Patrick Stewart will remain a lonely voice actor for now. Ugh. This is the Remastered version? Lord save us from the original. I have never seen uglier default characters in any game ever. In trying to keep the nostalgia versus updating it, It just looks like they keep the shitty old graphics in a new engine.

I am going to need time to let this one soak. It's not like Skyrim or Morrowind where I am coming from a place of love and getting a dopamine dump from the music.

Did Bretons have somthing like 20% spell absorption in this game as well? Or is that just Skyrim?

It's arguably even stronger here than it is in Skyrim.

Skyrim Bretons get 50% Spell Absorption (i.e. spells go to zero damage with restoration of magicka) for 60 seconds once per day as an activated power. They also get constant 25% resist magic (directly reduces spell damage).

Oblivion, they get 50% Resist Magic.
