At least 2 years ago they changed it to where headshot would only proc on one target at a time. Previous to that if you used any of the skills/spells that shot multiple arrows at a time it had a chance to proc on each one. You could go to plane of fire at C2 and literally pull every mob and snare it with vinelash cascade to bunch them up and shoot and kill 6 mobs at once, rinse and repeat. Now you have to switch to each mob and go thru them one at a time. Doesn't sound like much but it drastically changed how fast you could do it. It still pretty fast however.

a year or two ago on FV there was a dude named Uncledolan who camped the entrance to CT in feerott. Would charge 90k/hr for headshot PL. His setup was pretty sweet, went to gather all the trash with his warrior, brought back to CT entrance, his bard would AE mez, and ranger with afk dudes in group would headshot everything. think he had a box healer too. That guy still around on FV, or does anyone else do this still?

Oh yeah, that change, I thought you meant they changed it recently or something.

also a question, how are berzerkers and the decapitate ability? Is it the same as headshot? Also is it humanoid only mobs? I thought of rolling one for a change of pace.

Decapitation works on all mobs, not just humanoids. So, it has that advantage over Headshot. Headshot has the advantage of being able to level up yourself starting in your 70's or so, all the way to 100. Decapitation doesn't kick in until 90's.

I have a level 100 Zerker and could clear Tosk or a large chunk of Feerott in 1 pull, using the 25 minute disc cooldown. When this disc isn't up, you can pull singles with a merc cleric healing and kill them in 3-4 swipes of your weapon, because the proc rate on Decapitation is really, really high.

Both are mostly just Power Level tools for lower level characters. If your motivation is to get exp for your Ranger or Zerker, just fight equal level content with a group for much better exp.

I have the J5 merc on my main ranger who is lvl 91. I want to get the J5 merc on my lvl 84 shaman. Do I have to do the entire J5 line in the warrens or can I request the last task and complete it for him?

I couldn't request the starting quest in the line so I guess I have to get someone else to do it.

The first quests are all solo quests and you need to be like level 75 or 80 or something to get them.

And even at 90 you probably need a puller or cc to do that piece of shit where mobs come 10+ at a time.

Finished it, wasn't a big deal. My box alt died one time on the hail the stuff around the frogs deal. Other than that mostly running around. Pulling the ogres wasn't bad. Pull a big group and flusterbolt the ones I dind't want and kill the rest.

Have you tried the various HoT zones, maybe the tier 2-4 ones? I did 85-90 in the grounds, MC and SS.

The Grounds and SS both can provide for very short pulls. The Grounds has really high respawn, and Sanctus Somnium's carpet camp has ridiculous mob/named density and is right in front of you when you zone in. But I'm not sure what your gear/AA is like. SS would be arduous for scrubby people. I don't know if you still need flags to zone into SS either. The Grounds is open season.

It's hard for me to recommend a place better than KW and easier than Feerrott. It's a big transition moving up to HoT, but if KW isn't satisfying it's the next step.

Reading up on veil on raspers and its saying tier 1 named hit for 15k, how much hp/AC do you need to even stand a chance there at 90 with max passive defensive AAs?

I would stay out of VoA until your closer to 95 honestly, at least 92 when you can wear boreal armor.

What is your group make up and AA's? The first floor of the actual house in HoT is easier than the ferrott. I believe I read when it was released it was tuned around lvl 85 with around 2500 AA's. If you are playing a warrior with low AA's I would do the J5 merc quest and use the merc tank to tank stuff as it will do a better job 95% of the time over a lower AA'd warrior. I'm a lvl 91 ranger with all my defensive AA's maxed and full tier 4 HoT gear and tanking trash in the t4 zones in HoT is no problem and I can do the named but it's about all I want to do and I have to make sure they are slowed, that's with 65k hps, 6kac buffed (and have to use a shield) just to give you an idea, I know I'm not a plate tanker but it's all I have to comare with. At lvl 85 with a J5 tank merc you should have no problem doing the t1 lower floor if you have some dps along. Plus you can pick up some nice gear.

Another bonus of doing the first floor is the collection quest. All the stuff you kill drops stuff you turn in for collection quest that will reward you with about 12AA if you are on the low AA side. Plus you need to do the quest anyway to have access to be able to request the task to get into tier 2-4. I went in last night and did some to pick up a new 1hander and a shield for my 85 shaman.

But seriously if you aren't using the j5 tank merc you would be suprised at how ridicuously effective it can be at times.
