Landmark and EQN are supposed to be two totally separate things, though. I got the impression that landmark is just their Minecraft game you can build shit in and if they like said shit enough they'll put it in the real game and pay you for it.

Regardless I can't wait to try the Landmark thing, especially if it's on a server that you can go check out shit other people are building.
They are separate. But apparently you can use blueprints from Landmark to make things in Next - however you have to earn the right to do so. You can't just place a claim flag down. Also, having blueprints imported from Landmark still requires you to gather all the materials in Next to be able to build it.

Already confirmed CS isn't gonna allow dicks and stuff, doubt anyone will want to waste time gathering materials just to have it deleted

You don't think some dicks will, well, slip through the cracks? Challenge accepted. Dicks made it into actual Disney movies.

The 'combat' they showed at the end was crap, but I'm willing to give that a pass for now. Especially watching stuff spawn/despawn then just sit there. For release, I hope fights are actually difficult, and not a spamming AE fest that WoW 'dungeons' were.

The rest of the presentation was awesome, I do look forward to playing this in 2 years

What I'm saying is, World of Warcraft still looks pretty damn good after nearly a decade. EverQuest 2 after a decade? Not so much.

Like Quaid has said, a stylistic approach was necessary because of the systems they put in place. A destructible world? A layered world? Complex lighting system for true day/night cycles?

Sometimes you have to pick your battles. Overall the stylized art is pretty good. The environments looks amazing, and the characters are passable.
The reason EQ2's art looks bad now is because it always sucked. The artists responsible for EQ2's character art were not very good. There are plenty of examples of stylistic cartoon art that sucks also. It is the quality of the artists that matters, not the style of the art. Keith Parkinson's art still looks fantastic btw.

I'm not a fan of EQNext's art style but it is very well done. And since I am excited by the rest of the game and what they are doing with it, I will play the game and most likely enjoy it.

I do hope that's the case for certain. Seriously it's stupid but all I've wanted out of an MMO is to be able to run a tavern. lmao. I'll die happy if I can make one. Not that fucking anybody at all will come see it but whatever I made a tavern.

"Class determines your armor/weapon options #EQNext"

I like this. I understand if a wizard wants to hold a sword technically they should be able to, but they should also be at risk of hacking their own face of because it's a fucking wizard.

Warrior animations inspired by the Incredible Hulk. #EQNext
So what if I'm a Gnome Warrior? I don't think it'll look quite as impressive as it does for a giant Kerran.

Class determines your armor/weapon options #EQNext

Your weapons determine your 4 abilities. #EQNext
Makes sense. a Wizard/Rogue using a Staff shouldn't be able to Backstab - but a Rogue/Wizard with a Dagger should.
