Saw this earlier:
Darrin McPherson ?@TaliskerDev 5h
@ravaught @Zederok A typical inventory solution would not work with what we are planning. It will be different from the norm.
With the amount of classes you'll collect, plus gear loadouts for each, it seems it would be a UI nightmare for whatever setup they have.

What the FUCK is going on?!
Gear and items will be bound to classes, and carried around in balls that shrink down and can fit in customized UI spaces (Like a key ring!)

I have an early alpha screen shot to prove it.

That new story doesn't make sense.

InLast Stand of the Teir'Dal, Ithiosar follows Keramore into the ruined city they're retreating to and through the portal, losing a leg and part of his tail in the process. Then he flies off into this new place (plane, world, dimension, whatevah) they're in. Then inThe Fall of Bastion, Ithiosar is the guy who leads the seige of Bastion and lichifies the Arch Mage. How the fuck can both be true? This shit is supposed to be happening at the same time, so how can Ithiosar be in two places at same time?

Reading the thread from the RP forum where the author of the novella posted, it seems he really doesn't even start working with the SOE team until the 23rd.... So there is ALOT of lore to be written, and from what he says he has a pretty wide latitude in designing what SOE will consider canon.

As far as inventory... I have always inclined more to a realistic system with weight allowances and encumberence penalties starting at a low level. Sorry, I know this isn't popular, carry around 1 set of armor and a limited selection of a few weapons, unless you are Ninefingers, then a man can't have too many knives. You wanna switch set ups? Go back in town and change your shit.

This is not the direction they are going.. Sadly. They want the class switching easier and faster is seems, so I guess everyone will be able to carry 6 metric fucktons of weapons gear and armor, probably in some sort of pre made paper doll set up, maybe even something planetside-Esque where you switch paper dolls at some sort of station, like a bind stone or some such nonsense.

The dragon kills the Mage then flies north, he even tells the prince his city has been destroyed. So the endings of the books are in reverse order to how they occur, although, the dragon was probably going through the portal as the Mage was getting his necro on.

Yes. MMORPGs have become more a fucking parlor hall full of stupid fuck card games connected by a graphics engine.

Why the fuck do I want constant swapping of every-fucking-thing-possible I can swap: classes, armor, weapons, hotkeys. God help the designers of this shitty industry.

Where are the monk weight allowances?

Ithiosar flies to ruined city after fall of Bastion. I'm pretty sure the dragon says just that in the first story.

I lean toward this because of how it altered your gameplay as a monk in EQ but switching between roles in VG was so freaking convenient given the original slow travel that I'm now okay with multiple paper dolls but I'd like a better reason (you've got a bag of holding, blah blah blah).
