Life of Pi is on HBO. First time I've seen it. If I can get the name, one of beta characters is going to be a bengal Kerran named Richard Parker.

I can do without multiple starting cities but for fucks sake I hope there will be more than 4 or 5 races to choose from!

There's currently 6 plus gnomes are likely. So probably at least 7. Human, DE, Elf, Dwarf, Ogre, Kerran and probably Gnome. No clue after that.

It seems fucking odd to have Kerran but not Halflings or Trolls. I think they'll find their way in. Or atleast hope.

Yeah Kerran just feels so out of place on that list, if they wanted to go out on a limb and be differnt give us a playable centaur race.

Elves are split up into castes. Koada'Dal were the nobles of the Takish Empire, while Feir'Dal were the commoners, and Teir'Dal were the military. The Teir'Dal were separated from the rest of the elves when Bastion was sieged and ended up somewhere (another plane, world, whatever), which is probably going to be part of the reason they've turned into blueberries and grew horns.

Same thing with the Kerrans. They're one race, but the Vah Shir of EQ1 were the noble caste. I get the feeling that we're going to see a lot of castes butting heads in EQN.

Ya, cuz that wouldn't be a nightmare to wrap armour around... Really man?

I think the current race list is efficient and covers their bases pretty well.

1. Humans - because they have to be there. Middle of the road, flavourless. The subway of races. (Neutral alignment)
2. Elves - for girls (good alignment)
3. Kerran - for the kids (good alignment)
4. Ogre - for the bros (evil alignment)
5. Dwarves - for the shorty lovers, and people who think they are funny (good alignment)
6. Gnomes - see above, except these people think they are smart (neutral alignment)
7. Dark Elves - for the dorks/ladyboys (evil alignment)

If I were a betting man I'd bank on 2 more races either at release, or shortly after. One with neutral RP tendencies (Barbarian or Ratonga) and one with Evil (Troll or Iksar)

Ya... The more I think about it... Furry race, macho race, opposing elf races, opposing short races, and humans... It all lines up.

Kerrans were a launch race in EQ2 and have been in EQ1 for 11 years... They are not out of place.

Looking at EQ, EQ2, and P99 racial population statistics.

Think it's safe to say there won't be trolls, and probably not halflings, in EQN.

Eh. I'm sure they'll be in, along with Frogs and even Orcs but after some future Rallying Call. Just not important enough to be in at release.
