From Tad:

Character abilities.

Leap & Smash abilities.

Leap doesn't fit the theme of a dark, sneaky character.

I want to kill casters easier.

I kick out Leap. I go through and I find a class with a teleport.

Passive Shadows and tier up the class and unlock it.

Shadow flavored teleport

Equip and now I can sneak up on casters.

What I want to do is Passive Shadows and Whirlwind. But too expensive.

Can be fixed with itemization.

Items adjust ability

Awesome ring.

Ring makes all teleport abilities cost less energy.

I equip and now I can passive shadow and teleport.

I find a class with manaburn, spellreflect and eqip that.

I can now teleport in and destroy casters.

"The ownage we saw in the gameplay footage isn't going to be the norm. Those were highly advanced characters."

Wonder how much of the endgame they are working on.

Ed. Note: No Trinity.

No dedicated healers or focused tanks based on combat mechanics.

Combat model - visceral, active movement orientated gameplay.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety, and part of the action.

I still bitch about how cool this could have been. The beginning of it is great. They should go back and flesh out the early stages as the entire game. Or rather, someone other than Maxis should. Maxis/Will Wright can't be trusted to complete it.

I never bought into the hype about it, but I gave it a shot and the first hour or so is a very basic delivery of the promise that was made.

Builds that make it to the actual #EQNext game have to fit the theme. No starship enterprises outside of #Landmark

Bullshit I want to fly to luclin

Tried Vanguard too recently and had the same reaction, damn I thought the game was gorgeous when it came out, and I find it ugly today.(
SoE changed the character art for VG 9 months or so after the game was released. The artists they used were not very good. In fact they did such a bad job of it that I left the game. The original Vanguard character art was very good, and would still look good to this day.

It is the quality of the artists that matter, not the style.

Darren: If you enjoy playing defensively there are classes that will allow you to play that way. There is no threat meter/agro/taunting.

Butler: Our NPC will not attack the same person all over. They will figure out who is hurting them and they will stop you from doing it.
This is interesting. I really like the concept, although I don't know how it will work out in practice.

Source? If so, I'm out.

Keep in mind on the art style "realistic" usually also means having to up the min specs for players computers to play it worth a shit. Remember EQ2 when it first came out or Vanguard? Now some of that is just bad engine but its also your comp having to render all those little shiny armor and weapon pieces as well as those around you. I am not the biggest fan of the cartoonish art style but I can live with it if one of the advantages is a better running game.
