Yeah it will be gone asap. Look at the already rabid butthurt from the SOE cock-swallowers though. Hilarious.
lol yea.. Can you imagine what beta will be like. This reminds me of my Eagles. They have their own media guy that would ask questions at press conferences. After a bad loss the press would nail Andy Reid (head coach for you non football people) with tough questions and the Eagles press guy would toss a softball his way.. Lol fucking air right out the room

God damn this game looks like it could have so much potential but this WoW look is bullshit. Can't get attached and invest into some gay cartoon character. What a letdown

Some of you people are giving WoW WAY too much credit. It looks like dog shit compared to EQN.

I can deal with the art. I'm still mostly concerned about the class/combat stuff. Unfortunately that's a wait and see kind of thing. It could turn out to be great but right now it doesn't really excite me mainly bc I haven't experienced it.

I can too due with the art especially since that type has shown to age decently and not require a ridiculous vid card.

I cannot deal with ninjas and guns and giant furry simbas however.

I'm not giving WoW any credit. WoW looks like ass and so does this game. WoW just doesn't feel "real". I know that sounds ridiculous because EverQuest obviously wasn't real either. But part of the attraction was logging in and being in this world that actually could be real. The tree looked like a real tree, water like real water, characters like real characters, etc. (Hindered by technology, sure). WoW and EQN just look like drawings, as in they could never be a real world.

I don't mind guns actually. I'm indifferent towards them. I much prefer to have all races "human-based" rather than include cats, lions, lizards and shit.

Still though, the cartoony look is such a huge letdown.

Honestly, the combat and multiclassing pissed me off at first, but after a lot of thought I am pretty stoked for it. If they do combat right it is gonna be ridiculously fun and engaging. Same with multiclassing. I was playing my Druid on p99 the other day and realized swapping out my limited spell gems situationally between pulls was pretty much changing my 'class'. EQN just plans to do this with more complexity - and I loves me some geeky complexity where I can theoryquest and experiment all night long.

And just imagine if mobs behave how they have said they will? Where tanks become a kind of cc/mitigation role instead of Argo generation bots? I might actually WANT to play a tank.

Dude... You need to log into project 1999. The world looks like total ass... I mean, they got some things very right. Many of the character models ae very well done for the low poly count... But the environment is just a joke.

Remember watching Jurassic park in 1992 and thinking it looked awesome? Ya... Watch it now. Same thing.

Still like p99 looks and it's been fucking 15 years. Hell, Vanguard STILL looks better then eq next and that was done in what 2005?

Yeah no doubt, cause it's limited by technology. It's a 14 year old game (I think p99 is EQ1 yeah?) But more modern technology could get environments that look fantastically real.

Bah at this point we're talking about personal preference, not an objective analysis of the graphical quality of the world. EQN looks stunning, and there's really no argument there.

It wasn't the graphics that made the game seem real. It was the fact that most of us were between 10-18 and this was the first first-person immersive online game with a 'world' you entered.

I remember physically being in that world and everything looking amazingly real, but it was because what it was technically, not aesthetically. Too many, if not all, of us are now so jaded that we hop from world to world between games and there is basically no chance of us ever catching that immersion feeling ever again.

Fuzzy nostalgia is responsible for at least 75% of this thread.

Your glasses are super rose-tinted. The original EQ is highly stylized and made no attempt whatsoever at realism. EQ2 on the other hand did try to look real and the result is that it now looks like shit.

The landscapes in EQN look great. Your complaints are about character style and all of your examples are world-based. Please find a screenshot of an EQN landscape that looks like cartoony shit.

If the majority of people would rather choose a monster model with zero creation options or armor customization rather than a player model, they dun fucked up. That even the most tweaked perfected character still looks worse than a static model = design is shit.
