In a velious+ start I would STRONGLY recommend at least one necro and/or druid in any serious powerleveling comp. The only drawback in classic is the lack of access to animals in almost any decent level spots and the lack of undead anywhere good 43+. That isn't the case with additional content available. Your druid or necro allows you to haste charm pets with a far superior buff and also is considerably higher dps aside from the charm as well. You still need that one enchanter of course, but if you focus on viable areas any 2nd+ enc would be better served as a nec or druid alternate.

With a god start the nerf to pet mitigation is gone, so you can just forego a tank entirely. You could anyway but now it's comfortable. On selo I boxed a buddy's mage a few times in luclin and pop and didn't like it, but then in god farming bic it was night and day different. Even unfocused necro and beast pets are chonkers and probably superior to near naked characters. Beast pets are from what I had tested the weakest dps but their procs actually seemed regularly to give them agro over water and skelly bros. Potentially, a beastlord could be a real clutch "tank" where sk or ranger would have been slotted in classic starts. My testing was super amateurish though.

Starting in Not Classic with a plan to raid do your teammates a solid and delegate a slot to something that isn't a Magician, Necromancer, Enchanter or Cleric.

50% - Possible gear requirements removed (recommended/required level removed on gear, was an option being discussed if the server started at Live)



Will be a mega fun server at launch, and then after 2-4 months it will be empty minus maybe 1 big guild trying to make it work. Don't miss the first 2 months though it will be a riot.


This is at least one of the servers rulesets, prepare thy buttholes.

Can anyone explain to me how you get to lvl 50 in classic in a day played, without xp pots? I keep hearing that claim and it seems impossible.
Zaide streamed his last run, it's on his tube thing, and was on twitch. Just do what he did, except, he's gonna do a faster route this time...maybe

Kinda bleh, A luclin start would make more sense imo, alot depends on how fast or slow the unlocks are though (assuming there are expansion unlocks?)

A lock at 40 or lower on a server with FV rules would be bizarre even if it was just for a week. Finding productive things to do would be a challenge in and of itself.

It honestly wouldnt even be worth it for most people to activate/create an account until the level lock is 60+.

My concern is how much tuning you would need to do to make a level lock server actually fun and not just a gimmick. I can see a few try hard guilds racing to finish but the long term fun factor just doesn't seem to be there.

Sure raids would be harder and in current EQ raids don't really get hard at all until SOF but that works in SOF because by then the class balance is OK. If you make raids actually hard because of level locks and don't rebalance at all it will be a total shitshow and 95% of players will just quit because instead of just being carried as a shitty low dps which is what happens in current EQ from classic through the first like 10 expacs now you get kicked because it is too hard to carry people.

Level locked servers only reward zerg guilds who just will throw 400 people at tormax when everyone is level 40. While it will be impossible to do in a DZ at that level for everyone else.

IMO if they do level locked then they need to remove all open world bosses to negate the zerg effect.

TLP require active subscriptions to play on. 400 paying accounts throwing themselves against Tormax. And you think they would remove the world bosses???

Need to have a Progression Server that tracks and analyzes server population to ensure that overworld bosses spawn at the most inconvenient times.

World bosses were fine until they made them spawn every 6 hours. Burnout hits hard and fast.

Or just don't do OW bosses. I can understand that on Mischief that's a LOT more potential loot, but our guild for instance only did OW targets if they were up during our DZ raiding times anyways.

I skip plenty of it.

Managing my burnout is not an issue after Selo. I just do not enjoy the racing and crapping on smaller guilds.

Watching Ye Old Uber Guild bind rush Tormax with a couple hundred level 40s would be a fun spectacle to catch on Bobby's stream but that kind of energy isn't something the community has much of left. All the people you could have hooked for such an endeavor already went super hard on more than one TLP and aren't going to be looking to deathloop for hours on end to score some gear to get a tiny jump ahead for the next level unlock to clear Gates of Discord as fast as possible to prove how big their epeen is. I don't really even expect we'll ever get another guild like TEB that is willing and able to go for clear records. It's a niche thing in a niche game and those folks are all satiated.
