Is it still worth starting from scratch (Well, level 5.) here? Is there anything remotely resembling a lower level population, or am I going to have to solo or box to 65? I am literally bored shitless with current MMOs. Over the past week I've given up on FF14, reinstalled and tried to play WoW/EQ2/GW2/Vanguard/Wizardry Online/D3 and LoL and nothing is doing it for me.

I started up in July. I found quite a lot of groups along the way. Depends what you want to do, really. If getting to max level is your goal, just hit the golden path (FoB, Kurns, PC, HHK, HK, Planes) and there's always people around to group. If you are trying to hit random dungeons for nostalgia you would be hard pressed to find anyone. Best to at least 2 box. If running oldworld dungeons is your thing, just box a Shaman with whatever you are playing. Slow trivializes quite a lot until SoL+.

Just keep in mind, this game still has all the old school xp penalties, hell levels, and whatnot. Once you hit 50+, you will notice a significant slow down in XP; particularly at 51, 54, and 59.

When I quit they were just breaking into NToV... did they since beat Velious, move on to Luclin, and now need a reset?

Or did they decide PSHAWWWWWWWWWWWWW and they're resetting to Vanilla for kicks?

I'm not sure tbh bro, I know they're still in Velious with their l60 group, but they're starting a new wave of progression for some reason.

This is interesting. How long till the reboot and how longish does it take to get from 1-50 on the server?

It was announced on 4th October. There's a 20% exp bonus and 1-50 can be done pretty quickly using high-ZEM areas for exp'ing if you're into such a thing.

What is this news you guys are talking about? I tried googling it but couldn't find anything. Can anyone please fill me in? I haven't played for over a month because I got burned out in the 50+ grind. I really want to go back and knuckle down and get through it but it's hard to find the motivation.

Got my first flew flags last night. Question for any of you guys out there, is there any setting i can do to help with latency issues while in a raid? I was getting 5k+ pings, several LD's during that whole process. I found a datarate.txt that i upped to 9.0, have yet to test that out. Also i have turned off or set to low almost everything. Looks terrible but didn't help one bit. No video lag, strictly latency issues.

The PC client has that problem. You have to turn off your filters (spells, bard songs, etc) and other's hits. I've gone linkdead with NO combat going on, with just the raid standing around close together, when I had filters on. Just one of many reasons this game makes me wish I had a hackintosh, but I can't justify spending a grand on a box for this game.

You can't see who mobs are hitting though with other's hits off, (they don't go ow) which makes playing my Paladin more difficult.

Got the email and I wish they would at least the server to the PC and run it as their "classic" server.

They need to so something with this because it's the best thing they have out in the public market.

I really do think they could make some good money off this. Especially if they released a progression server with this code.
