I can 100% see this happening and people being willing to sub for it. I might.

Finally got to log in today for the first time since the outage. My claim is still there, but all of the ground has been reset to how it was before I dug it out. I have two props that remain (torches), but it seems the crafting stations I put in what-is-now-underground are lost for good :/

Did you dig down to where they used to be? Claim next to mine has all of his buildings gone but the crafting stations were still there partially buried in the ground.

Have had a much better time today than I did yesterday, crafting wise. Finally made a bronze pick, and have a saw mill on my property. Also managed to craft a movement speed increase trinket off of my neighbors loom or w/e. The amount of stone to lay a flat foundation (covering the entire area of the claim) is nuts, and it's definitely going to be a grind to build anything big until I get the excavator or whatever it is called. Having fun, and enjoying the scenery, but man oh man is mining / chopping trees super tedious for some of the stuff like burled wood. I imagine it gets better once you make faster harvesting tools. All in all this game has toooons of potential, and for an alpha, (besides the hiccups here and there), it's pretty fucking sweet.

I think a lot of the fun will come from cruising around and seeing all the cool stuff people create. That will or won't be fun to different people, but it's the exact sort of thing I like when I just want to chill out and relax. Relaxing and enjoyable for people who want to aimlessly explore and check things out; but more goal focused players might get bored and feel like there isn't much to do.

Holy hell.. Rare Gold Axe FTW! twice the swing speed of founder's pick/axe, and long enough reach to get the 'big' trees. Aww yeah baby..

Can't wait till they get underground stuff in the game. That'll open up a bunch of exploring areas.

The potential in this game is incredible. If they do this right it will be the next 'big' thing.

Not as big as the Wang tower on my claim, mind you.

The claim box, when you place it, do you have to put some of it underground if you want to build a basement etc?

Anyone know where the workshops that polish stone such as marble and amarathine come from? I need 'Worked Amarathine' but do not see where to do that.

Pretty sure it goes about as high as you could want to build, and the same for down below (so no, you just put it down whether on top of a mountain or on top of the soil in a valley). Nice thing about excavating your pit is that you can instantly delete dirt, etc. instead of having to mine it out!

I think if you build anything outside of your claim box, it will disappear. So I would guess yes, you would need to make sure it's far enough in the ground to build a basement.

Pretty sure it works as I mentioned. To prevent people from digging out underneath you, building over you, etc.
They can dig under you but the world heals just like normal. The only place they're restricted is inside the boundaries of your claim itself.
