I just read the info in the forums, and you are correct Skanda and Zx88. It said 70mW x 70mL x 100m tall. My bad. Just crafted an iron pick - the game starts slow but as Quaid said, and gets more rewarding as I continue to play.

The claim box, when you place it, do you have to put some of it underground if you want to build a basement etc?
During the claim process, you can use the scroll wheel to raise/lower the elevation of the claim. This way you can bury your claim area deeper into the ground/mountain if that is what you're going for.

I've lost my claim and my claim flag is missing. Should I delete? I had a lot of resources lol..

Also, I'm being stupid and playing with driver settings while there's a queue. But I can't stand seeing one video card at 99% while the other is at 0%. /OCD
When I deleted my character, the new one didn't have the founders items. It sucks using the default stone axe. Avoid this if possible.

I really do like how mining is done. You see a spot of color on the ground that indicates a vein of ore, as you dig down you follow that vein of ore until it runs out. Digging into the earth where you have to literally walk into your hole to find the end of the vein is so much better than just hitting something on the surface and picking up a couple of pieces of ore.

Somehow I got it back, and have another claim flag in my inventory, neat!

I heard this used a similar engine to Planetside2, so I tried forcing it to use the SLI profile (right now only 1 of my 2 GPUs is being used). Didn't work, dropped me to 12 FPS and stuttered, don't do it!

I haven't had too much time to gather/craft, but I made a bunch of tunnels in my claim area. I also put down two newbie crafting tables. It's a neat little system, I do look forward to checking out how EQ Next uses it in 2020

I dug down, but my crafting stations were nowhere to be found. Just re-did what I had. Found someone that had open crafting stations and just used those.

Logged off after some new changes; when I logged back into the same server, I was in my spot but someone else had the claim... Better luck tomorrow.

I cannot put my claim anywhere inside the area of those 2 claim boxes. The land being flat, and not crowded by other claims, makes it easier to see why it's so hard to find anyplace. The boxes also take up space above and below.
Map suffers from yet another one of those "we only tested on a single area on a single server". Your map and claims list memorizes every claim on every map you visit. The boxes aren't cleared when you move to another map, until you shut down the client and restart (not a good idea with queues). So you get more and more and more claims showing.

This land shortage was pretty clearly intended.
One of the problem with the current gameplay is that, basically, 15mn after you've started, you need to place a claim, or your progression is stopped. The spires facility stops being useful as you move to tier 2, requiring you to put toolstations, meaning a claim. So, every single player NEEDS a claim. It's not a matter of choice, unless you're simply interested in visiting stuff.

You can use anyone else's stations if you want. Lots of people in t1 have conveniently built them right next to the spire.

logged on and my claim is gone, someone new in its place all my high end crafting tables gone and no flag to start over..

...edit found my claim I had to attempt to zone several times before it would let me on the courage version. I logged out at my claim and it logged me back on the other server but same spot and zone.

well I did lose tables, I have my claim but its whipped clean yet again including my vault which I had just dumped my stuff into. At this point I recommend that people put their crafting tables down, use them then pick them back up.

Ok if this happens to anyone else, pick up your claim and your lost items will go into your inventory, but it will bug your claim and you won't be able to replace.

The Vault is basically EQNL's Ender Chest, i.e. an access to "extra storage". Every Vault (yours and anyone else's) gives access to the same storage, regardless of where you are. So your items should still be safe in their extra-dimensional pocket until you get to any vault. If their DB doesn't mess up.

Was able to place claim again, it seems they just take awhile to time out after you pick them up. Super lag has started was hoping today would be smoother with less people.

I want to play EQN Landmark and not Landmark so badly, I almost forked the money for alpha. Gotta be more patient.

Incoming subscriber only zones.
I can 100% see this happening and people being willing to sub for it. I might.

Finally got to log in today for the first time since the outage. My claim is still there, but all of the ground has been reset to how it was before I dug it out. I have two props that remain (torches), but it seems the crafting stations I put in what-is-now-underground are lost for good :/
With the all access pass getting you the 500 month SC +sub bonuses to all games I definitely will be doing this. Seems a no brainer if you are going to spend any reasonable amount of time in EQL or PS2 whatever.

I think a lot of the fun will come from cruising around and seeing all the cool stuff people create. That will or won't be fun to different people, but it's the exact sort of thing I like when I just want to chill out and relax. Relaxing and enjoyable for people who want to aimlessly explore and check things out; but more goal focused players might get bored and feel like there isn't much to do.
I'm with you on this. This a great game for the explorer and gatherer that I am in mmo's even without combat/pvp. I was very critical of them when this thing was launched and now am all on board as the potential for this thing seems huge.

Besides the current state of just enjoying running around in the environment and the music etc, it seems to me that as they more and more different types of areas , expand in combat of some sort , dangers of night as they remarked in a tweet and so on , that if they continue to do this well , they have a decent chance of being the next huge thing in mmo land.

Or you find one of the other thousands of players who placed a claim and have the tool stations going.

I wouldn't call it 'fun' in its current limited state... But it's damn rewarding
I 100% agree with this... it still needs 'more' to be actually fun, but wow is it sticky and addictive. Much the same as grinding mobs in Overthere was not really 'fun' but yet we all did it for hours and hours. There is definitely some serious potential with this and I was a TOTAL skeptic for both this and EQ:N prior to trying it.

Not saying they still couldn't screw the pooch on both games, but I am honestly much more convinced of the viability of both games just based on just this weekends experience with the alpha
