From what they were saying on yesterday's livestream it's a rather small patch. One of the notable features is them fixing the camera so loot flying around while you're digging won't cause the camera to zoom around anymore.

Well that's a very welcome change. Have they ever mentioned anything about the first-person camera being sped up / improved? I've been using the /bug command to report bugs and give feedback. Is there another command for feedback?

Nothing yesterday. I really hope they improve it as well. The 3rd person camera just doesn't work well in some situations I've found myself in.

Yeah, especially when building inside halls and rooms, you're almost always going to be in first-person. My hands are already jacked up from years of abuse. That slow camera just kills me.

Nothing really special. It was more along the vein of patting themselves on the back and showing off some community stuff. Some talk about the roadmap but nothing really new. They capped it off by running around that tavern that had the 700 people in it yesterday.

They're going into the meat of their Phase One stuff, or at least that'll be the focus of what's coming over the next few weeks. They let the devs have a four day weekend after they pulled the weekender when Alpha launched.

One note about the controls that I've had a lot of questions about: You can move the camera in and out to different distances from your character by holding shift and using the mouse wheel. Hopefully this helps!




. The camera no longer collides with loot generated from mining and harvesting. This should help significantly when mining in a tunnel and having the camera constantly moving around as you mined.
. Various optimizations and stability fixes. We will continue to plow through these on a daily basis to get these out to you as quickly as possible.
. Fixed an issue that could make it difficult to click through the area that the material tray would be in when it was opened even when it wasn't actually opened.
. You can now drop items on to the tabs in the vault to move them around easily.
. Fixed a number of issues with undo/redo that caused unexpected behavior and results. These should now work much more reliably.
. The sphere Delete brush should now be centered on your cursor instead of your cursor being on the edge.
. Fixed an issue that would cause the camera to transition twice while placing a claim.
. Removed the camera shake when chopping down trees.
. Added new icons for a number of items in the game.
. Added splinter particles to tree explosions.
. Changed tooltips to be more informative and to be color coded to make them easier to read.
. Fixed a bug that could cause the first attempt to place a template to fail.
. Changed the default starting distance of the camera from the player so that you can actually see yourself instead of just your back/head.
. Fixed a problem with seeing other people's light sources when they had them equipped.
. Fixed an issue that would cause a door to reset scale and/or rotation when animating.
. The crafting window will now close automatically when you move away from the crafting station.
. Updated the error messages when trying to build so that they are clearer and more useful to players.
. Fixed an issue where the props that have light sources didn't always look "off" when they were clicked off.
. Burled Wood building materials have been touched up to be cleaner and crisper.
. Added a message about your inventory being full when attempting to craft something so that players actually know why a craft failed instead of failing silently!
. Added a new hotkey to bring up the game settings (F2).

game is pretty much unplayable for me after the patch

I've reported as much as i can, but if i do anything except run around the game pretty much crawls to a halt. Just curious if you guys are having any issues too? not really what you can and can't do anymore, but more like, if i use the selection tool, the game just pretty much stops.

I was having a lot of issues with the hotbuttons and selecting tools after the patch. I only played about 20 min last night and logged off.

Just did a quick run around, mining, hacking at trees, selection tools and building. They have indeed fixed the camera for mining (yai!), and I never had any lock ups like you describe, Terial. There's some less FPS dips while mining, but it still needs from pretty big improvements.

interesting, as pre patch i had 0 issues with choppiness/lag etc.
when i did testing and i would create a 1x1 selection box, my ping went from ~60 to ~460
as soon as i hit ESC to remove the 1x1 selection box, ping back down to 60... every time, 100% repeatable. It's very frustrating.
