Arenanet took my hundred bucks sometime in march 2012 for the august release. MWO in like april for the August closed beta. Both non-KS. I also have money on Roberts and potentially Brad but thats both KS.
Bottom line for me is 'will i spend it anyway' and 'do i want the extra perks for paying early'... tbh this had me pondering, with bonus SC it woud have been a no-brainer.

I paid an ass load for entry in this alpha the first day they offered the packs. It's January fucking 30th. Where the fuck is my alpha invite already?!

They have never said you would get it in any earlier than Feb 28th. I'm pretty sure all the Trailblazers, including the free keys they are giving out, get in at the same time. The servers at tomorrow's events are not the alpha servers. They have confirmed as much. I'm still hoping they give us access tonight or tomorrow, but either way...it's still a month before I can really complain that they haven't met their promise date.

I'm just bitching for the hell of it. What does bother me though is that those alpha forums were complete bullshit. They never posted one single thing worth reading there. 99% of the posts there are by the gamers.

I'd like to point out this isnt EQN - everything that's wrong about current MMOs doesnt really apply to EQNL that for all of this year is just minecraft + exploring random biomes. You do make a point about EQN itself though and depending on how that turns out you might be right.

If you can be so easily swayed by never venturing out from the cesspool that is the Pantheon thread, then you made the right choice.
Tell them your computer doesn't meet the sys requirements for alpha. Or make up some sob story like you dont like the length of DG's hair in the dev roundtables.
They're pretty flexible, I don't think they really care.
