The tools are ridiculously more powerful, from an aesthetic standpoint, than anything minecraft could ever hope to offer. So why are you guys so excited about this? Enough to pay to alpha. From what I gather its nothing more than stripped down minecraft. EQN I could see getting excited for but this?
You say stripped down minecraft, I say a current Alpha "stripped down minecraft" with upcoming features and polish that I have always wanted while I was playing minecraft. So why are you guys so excited about this? Enough to pay to alpha. From what I gather its nothing more than stripped down minecraft. EQN I could see getting excited for but this?
Not only that but the tools for creation are much more powerful. SOE wants people to design their own games off this. We can affect EQN possibly. No other game is really offering these perks or even trying to.The tools are ridiculously more powerful, from an aesthetic standpoint, than anything minecraft could ever hope to offer.
Why would they even have an open beta?Guessing open beta probably starts mid to late summer.
Honestly man... SOE has sent such convoluted messages out about Landmark, you are gonna have to do some research. It's too much to explain, but I'll try to summarize:Ok so you build a house, maybe a mansion, then what? I really dont see the point. honestly, clue me in here. I guess im just not a fan of this type of gameplay, if you can even cal it a game.
By stripped down minecraft I meant , at least on the multiplayer servers you could have PvP and mobs that would kill you, Im not seeing this here other than the venus fly trap thingie.
Yeah, that would pretty much explain why you "don't really see the point".Meh, whatever, I guess im not the builder type. I didnt like minecraft either.
Great post and my 7 yr old nephew is a huge minecraft addict. If they can make the tools easy enough for kids(or older people lol), then it will go a long way towards success. The big hurdle for them is gonna be making sure that they have the accessibility of minecraft with the funcationality of a real world builder like tesv or whatever. Minecraft is popular partially because its easy to get into, it doesnt overwhelm you with options, they will have to be really careful with that in EQNL.
You aren't the only one. I'm not much of a builder but will try in this , but am in it for the exploring and resource gathering in an EQ setting and want to see the thing develop first hand also. I also want to see if I can dig to the other side of the worldThe reason I'm in is the exploring. I found exploring Cubeworld fun even with skipping most combat. This looks TONS better, adds gathering and building, and will add more features as they advance towards EQN. Maybe I'll even enjoy the building, but I'm afraid my mix of impatience and perfectionist and lacking skill in architecture will sour that.
The latest account created on the Alpha boards is #6506. Taking into account any SOE accounts, I'd say that's about right. 6400ish Trailblazers so far. That's only counting ones who have made the forum account, so probably a bit more than that.Got to hand it to them...low estimates are 6000 trailblazers at the moment. That's $594,000 for a game they are going to release for free anyway. Looks like it was a smart move.
Because I know the concept of this game is going to be awesome. I'm absolutely 100% going to spend money on it when its released. It doesn't matter to me if I spend that money now, or in 1 year when its released. It's better for me to get in on it early, because why not? I can try it out, and maybe suggest stuff that makes the game better than it otherwise would be. Also whatever preorder perks that come with it. I don't have any worries that the game won't ship, I mean it's not Pantheon right? So why are you guys so excited about this? Enough to pay to alpha. From what I gather its nothing more than stripped down minecraft. EQN I could see getting excited for but this?
