Anyone wana help me find 2 videos?
One is a spirits of the lost raid by the guild Equinox on the innothule server [has lotr music in background]
The other is a guild video by The Last Word also from Innothule. It was about them hitting level 30 and making wyrmsteel weapons

As you haven't asked for it do you have a copy of their Borxxx raid in OOLS? If so can you upload it someplace? I played on Inny in t5! Equinox were a great bunch of people..I know those videos including the Marr's Chosen raid were archived on flames at some point but that's gone so I guess you'd have to ask on the official boards there might be some older players still hanging about - doubtful, worth a shot tho. The old eq2 forums are inaccessible now on daybreak as i've looked. t5 to t7 in this game were pretty amazing times. Caps 110 nowdays.

I hate that I loved this game..... I may pop on just for the heck of it. I would have liked to have completed the latest expansion but I didn't like raiding on EQ2. What's the cool server now days?

Seriously don't bother, it was a shadow of it's former self 3 expacs ago when I last played. Think Maj'Dul and Thurg have decent populations, that said until you spend like 6 months plus gearing up you wont even get a group due to the the resolve requirements. Shits like crit mit in reverse I guess, need it to hit mobs etc.

I logged on briefly last night. Such a shame. It doesn't take long to remember why you walked away from it. I was reading their "Coming back to EQ2" post and all their ascension crap, familiars, etc. seem to just further unnecessarily complicate the game. Shame. I still have Agnarr to keep me busy.

Game was so fun in vanilla. The draconic storyline quest is still the best quest in a mmorpg when everyone was trying to come together and figure it out.

The whole stat inflation, new stats, million more buttons to mash, pots to use, clickys from items, I was raiding as an Illy for 9 years and shit just got old in the end. I had to literally cast 50 plus spells a min and had a gazillion macros for all the stupid crap they introduced like mimicry. Masters don't drop anymore either so your forced to pay to get top tier spells so I gather. Shame cause the game did have a sort of golden age from vanilla through to EoF.

If they would only create an Agnarr version of EQ2. It could possibly work.

I jumped in to take a look at the new content. I was hoping that the free level 100 character would upgrade an existing character, but it is only for creating a new one from scratch.
The plane of magic is just a faction grind before you can access the other planes. A little disappointed in that.

PoM is really bad. It’s a sign of where EQ2 has ended up. Expansions used to be Continents that felt like whole new worlds. Now you get a hub and zone templates filled with very little thought put in.

I feel like all MMOs have become that. No exploration or anything just sit in the city guild house garrison etc and be ported to some raid or instance where nobody talks and leaves after a single wipe

Im probably going to sub just for a free 100 since its only $15. I woulda maybe grinded to 80 on FG but the tle is pretty bad as well now

Yeah the last few expacs have been on par with fallen dynasty size wise (maybe smaller even) and that was just an adventure pack originally. And it's all literally copy paste of old mobs and artwork rehashed in bright purple or something awful like that. The quests are all shit now without any lore.

Blows logging in then having to do a faction grind to get access. Making a new char or logging in an old high level is terible - takes about 4 hours to sort out my UI if I logged back in so it must be same if you return and just make a heroic 100.

They should have consolidated the spells in t7 or so, 3 hotbars would be fine. Games a complete mess, that said if someone made a vanilla emulator (like at launch with corpse runs, all heroic mobs everywhere etc) I'd definitely play it. Probably be impossible with the shoddy coding though. I know they tried it with TLE but it wasn't the same from what I hear.

It wasnt. It was actually a lot of fun racing to 50 and having all those zones populated but wasnt the same.
If anyone was to ever be able to do a legit vanilla server id pay to play in a sec yo

EQII is equivalent to the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. It had so much promise, but the original creator didn't have much involvement, so it wasn't able to recapture the magic.

I enjoyed it through the Kunark expansion. Everything after that was garbage.

Same thing happened in EQ with expansions like Seeds of Destruction.

SoD had tons more content. The only similarity is that it was run through a hub. Now you get maybe two zones and they’re reused. Right down to the spawn points. SoD was super lazy for it’s time but it’s a wet dream compared to now. Plus I loved the lore in that exp.

Even tho eq2 was always a poorly made game it was the last one to have giant dungeons (back in vanilla atleast). Sol eye was never itemized properly but holy shit was it huge and had completely differing environments inside from one area to the next. I cant remember now how many times I used to have to escort people down to Nagafen because most people would get hopelessly lost in there. It was so fun to explore especially the first few times when you were like ‘holy shit when does this place end ?!’ And seeing the path to nagafen the first time over the lava was badass

It was never itemiZed properly that I’m aware of but if it had been it could have easily supported many groups and without the need for instances.

Seriously. That zone had so much fucking potential. Its amazing how badly they squandered it.

Sol's Eye was fucking epic. When I first started playing we went in there at level 25 or so as nothing inside could see invis for the first few weeks (same with perma) and we were all following a swashy with the group invis (snuggle) where you had to stay real close or it popped. Great times, scary as hell as you'd never get a corpse back from deep inside with level 52 crap all over. And the music was killer in that zone.
