I played a bit of Vanilla, and not much past that: If a new TLP launched, how long does it remain a "decent" game before the heavy ability bloat? Somewhat interested in attempting to play on a TLP.
Well guess I'm done with this game. I'll come back later on to check out any additional, actual Luclin content. I'll just wait until there's a couple more GU at least. Unless it's more Diaku cowboys take over Vex Thal, last boss being a 4 armed Akheva Gunslinger, then hard pass.
I'm just a sucker for EQ1 stuff reimagined in EQ2, there hasn't been enough substance to this game for over a decade, to justify playing on a regular basis.
How is this game doing btw? I hear so much about EQ, progression servers, and Project1999 but nothing about EQ2. I loved the game up to EoF after that I kinda dawdled off.
TLP launches are still fun for a few months. Then DoF drops and the game turns into a turd sandwich.
Damn Ive been wanting to do a EQ2 TLP but these rules arent my thing.New TLP server starting soon. PvP ruleset, KoS start, locking at TSO. Beta begins April 6.
I'm in agreement that it NEEDS to start in KoS but did they actually confirm that anywhere?New TLP server starting soon. PvP ruleset, KoS start, locking at TSO. Beta begins April 6.

Big problem is no matter what else they do, if they keep the broad itemization changes they made for Kaladim's release then everything is still fucked at endgame.

They won't start out healthy. EQ2 ruined all its goodwill with its own community. What's the expected pop of a TLP launch these days?
Is it seeing 2k concurrent?
Timing is good for some eq2 pvp nostalgia. WoW is tanking out right now.
I might give it a run if these things start out pretty healthy.
I hated what they did to spells/skills. It's literally designed to progress with your wallet, instead of traditionally. Oh sure you could, but it will take you 6 months to take a single adept to max, but with chunks of DoucheBag Cash you can do it instantly! They won't start out healthy. Their current live servers have less than 300 clients ingame. TLP servers struggle to hit 900 clients online and die out after Destiny of Velious. There's probably even less actual humans playing, as the dev team lets bots run rampant because it's a majority of their income.
Their current team, quite honestly, has ruined any goodwill the Hartsman era brung. It's completely pay to win on live.
Dave Georgeson made sweeping monetization changes in EQ2 that effectively let you pay for power, such as statted mercenaries and mounts through lootboxes, and paid spell progression. You remember those adept IIIs? spells can be bought with Daybreak cash and there's no incentive to farm anything but high-ticket Krono items to resell via RMT.
Only hope for EQ2 is emulators now.
