I played a Warlock in EQ2 named Wayoff.

I think I remember you whispering in vent on raids cause some people were asleep in your house.

Yea Defiance I think. I used to post on eq2flames a while ago but I havent been to that site in a while. If EQ2 spins up a TLP server I may jump on board. Early EQ2 days were pretty fun.

Tempting, if only to see how wonky the game is after a decade of changes and how much stuff is hilariously broken. But who in their right mind wants to revisit the Speak Like a Dragon questline? Or worse, that ungodly horseshit quest from Ro?

Plus, the 24 man raid cap presents a lot more difficulties than an EQ prog server thanks to the extreme turnover rate.
After Speak of the Dragon that quest becomes really fun though

Holly just confirmed Time-locked expansion servers for PvE and PvP. I guess it took these EQ TLP Servers to make them believe that it was worth looking into. I don't think anyone wants further development of these games. The money is to be made in restoring the nostalgia.

Considering EQ2 was making some decent progress then did a 180 into shittown, it's probably a good idea.

No kidding... some of my best MMO memories were on EQ2's PvP. The Hartsman era was some good times. I'm really looking forward to it personally. I'm loving Lockjaw and look forward to some of those moments, especially in PoP but with the 6 month timeframe, it gives you a lot of time to invest in both.

T5 pvp with all those contested has me almost wanting to roll there
For whatever reason anyone has ever quit EQ2, just imagine those reasons compounded and multiplied for your return. Not to mention the changes in AA are some of the very "few" good things that happened over the years. In some games a TLP server would be good, i just dont see EQ2 as being one of them.

It won't save it but it'll give it a popularity spike and bring in a little extra money. Probably have Ragefire to thank for that.

I hate the AAs

From 80 billion hot keys and AAs to only like 12 thousand hot keys and no AAs. Far more appealing to former EQ2 players that quit years ago.

I can't wait till you all try the progression servers and realize how much time you invested into the game back then and decide it's not worth

KoS - EoF was good times though. Some of the future things need to be applied though, like persistent timers for EH.

Defiance on Permafrost. We were competing with FoH eq2 chapter during KoS - EoF on that server. It was fun time.
Ahh right. Name looked familiar and I got confused with my first guild Descendants. Pretty sure we got the WW1st on Lord Nagalick so we were kinda a big deal also =p

One of my favorite memories was finding and exploring SE at launch. The LS map was bugged for the longest time and that place was a bitch to navigate. When we finally found it, we pretty much had the run of the place for a good while. Too bad nothing ever dropped back then...

Totally jonesing for RE runs now thanks to this thread. Think I had every rare spawn timer down to a science before I quit.

Yeah, vanilla raids in EQ2 were complete cancer. In fact, none of the raiding content from TSO and before really stands up to the quality standard of contemporary MMOs. It would be fun to play Swashbuckler again (or Brigand since they're more desireable IIRC, I mained Templar when I first played but I always enjoyed my Swashy more), but if I have to pay to play at all then I'm not down.
