i 2boxed a cleric one time for one of our earlier emp ssra attempts. i let so many people die that i wasnt allowed to 2box a raid ever again. fine with me. 2boxing doesnt let me focus on playing my main char. then again if it wasnt for 2 boxing, our guild would never have gotten far. when we did kill emp ssra, we only had 25 actual members at the raid, a large portion of the guild had quit or "took a break" due to nonstop commander camping for keys. it was amazing how many people came back from their breaks the next day. i was so pissed, i had spent 3 weeks averaging 18 hours a day in that fucking zone along with a handful of others keying everyone up only for them to flake off and not help the others with theirs. after that i stopped being modest about asking for loot. a lot of us "core" members felt the same, so we loaded up on VT and the flakes came second. lol my shaman magelo shot up to number one that summer and stayed in the top 5 til well into PoP.I guess i dont mind 2boxing. Thats eq.
No, I haven't played since they dropped that joke of an expansion 'Call of the Forsaken'. I'm full time Dota2 also.
Though, I could be tempted to return for the new Kunark expansion.

glad test was ok for you, i played on it after raids to get the inside track for what was coming up on patch day and it would go down a bunch of times and stay down for hours. i got invites from our old server GM, Valtron to mess around with certain shaman stuff . i pretty much ate drank and shat everquest and everything surrounding it during that time. i go overboard sometimes on things that interest me.We played there as a full time raiding guild for three years or so. Never had any issues with servers being down. I guess by then they'd given up on testing things though so the Test server was hardly messed with outside of the monthly patching.
Not even 4 new zones. Plane of Heath is a reskin of windsong sanctuary (VOA zone) and the demiplanes are the same zone reskinned for the most part. At least the broken mirror had more than 7 raids so it was better then the darkened sea for raiders. They don't release "expansions" anymore. We get excited because Kunark is mentioned, but really it will be reused assets from current zone libraries with a few color changes and a bunch of blah. I remember being so excited when I heard LDON had 40+ new zones. I was like OMG. And then I found out that really, it was 5 zones. What a letdown. I still have a fond place in my heart for LDON though. But EQ doesn't release proper expansions anymore. Sure, there were a few after LDON that were proper. But from what I hear and from what I've seen, since DBG took over, they aren't real expansions, and even before then, it wasn't much. I think the last real expansion was Seeds of Destruction or Underfoot. God getting the original J5 merc was so fucking hard, but so rewarding. Even then, they aren't the expansions from the old days, nobody releases those anymore. I can hardly even believe they used to release expansions with TWENTY + new fucking zones, all distinct and unique. I miss those days. Pure awe at an expansion release and a sense of true adventure and exploration, never knowing where you'll end up or what zone you'll run into and what will be there. *sobs quietly*
Lol just look at The Broken Mirror:
Oh really!? 4 completely new zones and 3 revamped ones!? Holy shit!!

Sorry, I'm just mad that they're trying to use the Kunark name and I know there won't be any real substance behind it.
I know you are being mildly hyperbolic, but they had way more than 1,000 people playing during COTF, there are 45 raiding guilds (still listed on elitegamerslounge progression site, not counting the ones that died and dropped off between now and then) that completed that expansion, that's at least 2,500 there not counting the casuals and non-raiders.The 3 expansions (more like game updates) that followed, are so ham-handed that if they had more than 1000 people playing their game, there would have been riots and demands that would have made Furor's 14 days notice look mild.
Doubt it, they will continue to milk it for years to come, they need something to keep showing a profit while they work on H1Z1 and try to fix landmark.honestly I am guessing that this is DBGs last effort with EQ/EQ2. They know that most people enjoyed kunark and velious alot so this might be the last card they play before canning the EQ franchise.
if they are even trying to fix landmark at this point they are dumber than I thought.Doubt it, they will continue to milk it for years to come, they need something to keep showing a profit while they work on H1Z1 and try to fix landmark.
Don't disagree, but they are putting forth a lot of effort to keep it from being a total flop, it's like they are actually incrementally trying to turn it into something more than a building game post-launch. Personally i think it's wasted effort.if they are even trying to fix landmark at this point they are dumber than I thought.
Their CM laziness hit an all time low. When they announced they were going to stop posting sales and bonus exp weekends on the forums because they were also posting them on twitter was the final proof that they no longer really even care enough to fake trying. I didn't think it could any worse than it was with Roshen, i was wrong. This just reinforces what we already know, they're useless.Bristlebane brought down for scheduled 24 hour maintenance. The notification of maintenance came down 10 minutes after it was brought down
My guild (ring of valor) changed their raid time today to avoid Labor Day weekend, now we're fucked.
