A few questions, as someone who has only ever been into a few animes (DBZ, Kenshin, Death Note, Berserk, Cowboy Bebop)

-Is Dandadan worth watching? Seems like the new thing people are into.

Yes. It's completely batshit crazy, has an interesting art style, some great unique animation ( see races ), fun characters and probably the most believable teenage relationship I've actually seen in an anime. Low investment too - if you don't like the first episode, you probably won't like the rest of it.

I was given a box set of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which I hear is like the best version of FMA, or at least the one I'd like. I watched the first seven or so episodes and can't seem to get into it, with 57 to go. Can anyone give me a selling point as to why I should stick with it? I've got it either way. Not even really clear on what the overall theme of the whole thing is.

I remember liking it, but can't remember much about it. I don't think there were any major shifts in quality as it went along, so if you aren't into by 7 eps, it is probably not for you.

-Is Dragonball Daima worth watching? As a big DBZ guy I might watch it when it's all finished (not gonna tune in weekly or whatever)

FMA is great art, and the story is really quite good as well. It is about family and sacrifice and a lot of other themes. Great fantasy and scifi.

Yes on Dandadan. It's strange, but in a good way.

No idea on the new Dragonball. Even though I've watched every episode of DB, DBZ & DBGT, that era has passed. Never had an interest in the new one.

As for FMA, the overall story is compelling. But if you aren't into it by the 7th episode, it may not be for you. In that case, I suggest trying the first 7 or 8 episodes of the original (2003) FMA, so not Brotherhood. It's a very similar story, but the Chimera arc hits a lot harder.

DB Super was pretty amazeballs.

Daima is growing on me but definitely not what I was expecting after watching Dragon Ball Super. It's got more of a not-as-serious whimsical fun adventure feeling than the whole battle-focused save the world feeling Dragon Ball Z had.

FMA Brotherhood - i'd give it until at least the end of episode 10. If you aren't interested by then, it's probably not for you.
