It is if your dog you love gets shot and killed and then your Ghoul buddy gets sledgehammered to death by a Super Mutant.

Lonesome Road was pretty lonely in NV....

And again, that's all fine and good but they won't get my money for it. I'm not hating on Co-Op gaming as a thing, I am just loving on a franchise. A franchise that has never cared about the Co-Op scene. Like I said, the way it affects the experience is subtle, and is found mostly in the story and the pacing, but is it still enough to sort of 'ruin' (although I hesitate to use that word) the experience.
Whats worse tho, they add on a tacked on MP only mode with a cash shop which is the trend of every open world game coming out since 2014?

You guys are worried about them exhausting resources, well there you go..

Actually i'm the majority, you my man are the dieing minority.

Only have to look to the charts to see that multiplayer games are by far the most played by young adults.

I'd have enjoyed some co-op in DA:I or Skyrim, but for me Fallout benefits from loneliness. I wouldn't mind a squad of in-game characters ala Wasteland though. I don't care if they add in co-op. I just wouldn't be into it.

And in those 3 brilliant posts were you managed to focus all on me, and have yet to add anything to the discussion you weren't a part of to begin.

I bid you farewell sir. Bye Bye now, I hope you are successful in your trolling in other threads.

Biggest issue to me with adding multiplayer to Fallout, and Elder Scrolls, is the fact that everyone runs different balance, questing, item and everything else mods to the extent almost no two people will have the same mod list so how do you deal with that issue. Can't just say well we'll have the server download the missing mods to a person so everyone is running the same list due to incompatibilities between them, load order issues etc or people just preferring to run their experience without certain mods while others find them essential to enjoyment.

Modding is a whole other discussion. It's not part of the core game, and doesn't appear on consoles at all.

That being said, you would still have the single player game just like boderlands has it. You are not forced to play the game with other people, they just have the ability to jump into your game at your discretion.

And lets be honest, Mods would be made for both aspects of the game. Modding communities have been trying to force multiplayer into these open world games for awhile now.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the perfect example of this. There is absolutely no reason a friend shouldn't be able to come in with an invite from you, and take control of one of your bots.

Considering FO 3 and NV both include "companions" that have horrible AIs, what damage would co-op do? Let the other player take the role of the companion and you are set. Since you can gear up your companions in both those games you already have the "balance" issue worked into the game so /shrug.

(Speaking of co-op, who the fuck plays with Fuxxx0r3112? You dont run friends only and invites? Seriously, if you are stuck with Fuxx00r and friends you only have yourselves to blame).

While playing TES and Fallout I've sometimes come to a point and thought, this would be awesome if I could share this encounter/quest with a friend (and I mean a good, RL friend, not random ass FaceFuxxor). But those instances are rare, and if I had to choose, I'd always prefer these games being single player. As has been noted, there are a great many reasons that adding muliplayer may be difficult/impossible, but I if they do do it then it would have to have mod capability. Paradox allows this by segregating mods into two groups, those that don't affect the core game (graphic, texture, layout mods) and those that do (changing core mechanics, difficulty, etc.). If you only run the former then the checksum of the game is unchanged and you can play with others who have the unmodded game or people who only run non-core changing mods. If you play with a core-changing mod then it changes the checksum so then you can only play with other people who have the exact same version of the game AND mod.

If the coop worked into the story without breaking immersion sure but that seems highly unlikely to be pulled off. If you and the companion were treated as part of the story then it would be fine. If you are just randomdudeb that is where the companies could give a fuck. Anyways off the coop circle jerk.

It should be based in Boston (Commonwealth) from all accounts. I wonder if the androids have revolted by the time we get to the game. I am guessing it takes place 5-10 years after FO3 and New Vegas.

I kinda hope they would have a Cleveland or Cincinatti one and show that nothing has changed and its still a terrible shithole...with zero radiation!

But for real I would love for them to expand what happened in Europe or have a bigger Chinese presense. Maybe a ton of Chinese on the Alaskan front snuck down to Washington and created a society. and the NCR is brushing up against them on the mean streets of Seattle. Have the NCR being the invaders like how the Legion were in NV. The enclave may have some secret underground base somewhere. Go Nuts!

Looking the MMO was supposed to be in Seattle anyway.

That would be cool I was hoping San Franciso or New York. According to reports though it's most likely Boston. I am ok with that since they have written quite a bit about the Commonwealth.

New York may be tough to pull off because of the scale and scope of the city itself. I do think SF would be a very interesting place for the game to exist though.

I could get behind slaying Mowhawked chowder heads.

I wonder if they could afford Seth Macfarlane to do a few special voices on a few quests. I would empty a few clips into them and fail.

New York would be easier then you think but it got nuked harder then DC. So a lot of rubble but tons of rads. SF was in FO2, it has a cool story and low rads. I would prefer west but that's because that's the original lore.
