After the Steam modding bullshit that Bethesda I'm sure had a large part in: will not buy. Fuck these slimeballs. Fallout 3 wasn't that great anyhow, aside from the mods. New Vegas was superior in almost every way.

Hoping the area is either Pacific Northwest, New England, or Midwest like Chicago/Detroit.

Am I the only one who wants a reboot?

Probably.
I don't see the point of a reboot when there's literally hundreds of excellent locations far enough removed from previous ones to not even have to reference the previous game factions. They don't have to push the timeline forward every time either. Maybe that's what you meant? A new city at the same time FO1 was happening?

Nope. Just a difference in taste I think. We can keep visiting new places, but eventually there's no "Fantasy" aspect to the series anymore. I like wondering what happened, not being told in detail everything that ever happened.

I'd be fine with going back in time too, but just continuing down the timeline filling shit in makes it like every other series. Fury Road reminded me recently that not everyone has forgotten that the best stories are sometimes left to your imagination.

edit: I'm not going full hipster. I'd love any new Fallout game. Just stating what I'd prefer to see.

So Fallout 4, probably in 2016. A year to milk the DLC cow for all it's worth. Then hopefully in a year after that, the version made by people who created and actually 'get' Fallout.

2018 is a long way off, and odds are Obsidian won't get a chance to put Bethesda to shame again, but a man can dream.

God damn, between this, Arkham Knight, Deus Ex:MK, and XCOM 2, this is shaping up one of the best years in gaming in recent history.

Now, I admire Obsidan/Black Isle, and they have made a long list of amazing games, but FO:NV was a rush-job (fewer POI:s that were actually intresting, messy crafting system addition with the reloading thing, one of the 3 factions was lacking so much content even they devs appologize for it, made the arguable worst DLC to either Fallout game and so on...).

I really liked New Vegas at times, but totally agree with what Faith said. And fucking Chandler doing the worst voice-acting I've ever heard as Benny.

And it's still 5x better than most the shit I've played lately.

And yet, despiteallof that, it was still at least twice the game Fallout 3 was. Bethesda is a fucking abhorrent company.

Oh come on. In terms of consistency of excellence BGS is one of the best game studios in the world. In the last ten years of games they've developed Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim.
