Blacksmithing is really poorly done. Practically nothing can be modded at rank 1, it's all rank 2 or 3. I ended up scratching it off my melee build entirely.
Then I'll def wait for corrective Mods then. Just seems like there are so many small things that would drive me batshit insane

OK this bugged repeatable quest is triggering my OCD hardcore. It's one of those raider quests for a settlement (Raider Trouble at Abernathy Farms) but I've killed cleared the raider site (backstreet apparels) but now theres no marker and the quest is still at "kill all the raiders". Either the named raider is stuck under the world or its just bugged to shit.

Anyone know the console command to close the quest out?

Not sure if there is anyway to find the quest ID in game but you could probably find it on the wiki page but you might run into problems because I think all the "Raider trouble" quests are radiant, repeatable crap that continue to spawn.

You could just ignore it because those quests should fail and be removed from your questlist if you don't complete it within 7 ingame days.

Just found my first bugged quest and it's pretty bad, but fixable.
If you don't take the elevator out of Ft. Hagen you won't trigger the big BoS sequence

how did you get out? the door backwards locks. Quicktravel shouldn't work indoors.

Stuck in damn SF all weekend for work when all I wanna do is play Fallout 4 and watch Jessica Jones.

Damn it all! This might be one of the few games I preemptively buy DLC for. Just maybe.

Has anyone found a reliable area to find the guy who sells dogs? I feel the need to dog up my settlements.
Not possible, AFAIK. Garrus the Reluctant Dog Vendor can spawn in just about any random encounter spot outside of the city. I found him near Tenpines Bluff and Forest Grove Marsh.

(There's really like 18 settlers, 22 beds, 30 or so food, a ton of power and defense, and something ridiculous like 400 water in Sanctuary Hills. I wouldn't care except that when I travel back there the settlers tell me there's been complaints "about the bed situation" and it does seem to be dragging down my happiness level.)

Can any of you assassin types confirm whether or not melee weapons have a sneak attack/fatality animation ala Skyrim?

I saw my companions occasionally put the beat down on people, but the only animation I ever got was "riflebut" brutalizing someone with by sawed off. Never got anything for ripper, shishkabob, or the sledge or any other weapon bash for that matter.

I've gotten melee kill animations in VATS but not while just swinging

The "butt" animation seems to go any time you "bayonet" something more than once consecutively - nothing to do with random chance or how hard of a hit.

And I highly doubt they have the drawn out animations for players for kills - you get action cam (like Skyrim) at times, but that's it - and seems like only when there's few mobs within a given radius of you. (since it doesn't pause time/invuln during such, it kinda makes sense - gotten killed more than once stimpacking a friend and being locked into doing nothing for 3 sec then a minigunner notices me while frozen in animation)

So I busted out a couple new mods last night. First one pushes my damage back up to 100% (it's 50% on survivalist), and I left enemy damage at 200%. Now it's become a "who can shoot first" or "can I kill this fast enough" game which is a shitload more fun than the bullet sponge game I was playing before. I still get shit on by plenty of things, and being on survivalist still motherfuckers continue to spawn with rocket launchers and mini nukes which obviously still one shot me.

Second mod increased the legendary spawn rate on survivalist by 2x. It feels pretty much the same as before so I might have to turn that one up after I play it for a few more hours.

Added a couple more building mods, a mod that let's you use a base costume with the extra armor pieces, craftable guns & ammo (properly gated), vertical quest dialogue, and empty shell casings stay on the ground for 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds.

I did and just learned to ignore the subtab entirely.

If that's the only way to get the animations that would explain my only seeing one. Never melee/bashed at all in VATs. Seems completely counterintuitive unless you're trying to critical hit. After how popular the animations + DoD mod was in Skyrim I don't think that was a good design choice.

Where are you year-on + mod community? :'(

Does the crafting mod include melee weapons? If so that's the first check off my list of what to wait for before run #2.

Yeah, I get that a lot too. Its not definitive or anything, but my limited testing so far suggests its possibly something to do with having your stuff in your base spread out too far, especially the beds. Originally in Sanctuary I had my beds placed about 2 per original non-destroyed house and I got that crap all the time. Then I built a nice mega-dormitory building right next to my workshop building and moved all my beds in there and parked most of the guns on its roof and I havent had a bogus status report like that since. I've started getting it from the Sunshine Co-op though, ever since I didnt notice they were being attacked and they got wiped, even though everything has since been repaired, so I may have to do the same thing there once I get the materials. Steel is still my problem, dammit. Time to see if the Corvega plant has respawned yet.

Red starred ones I think are must-haves, rest are just personal preference to eradicate white/brown/orange from the weapons and armor color palettes.

Edit: Oh, and scratch Optimized Weapon Textures completely. That was a failed experiment to see if lowering the VRAM usage of weapon textures would fix my "takes 5-15 seconds to change my fucking gun" issue. It did not.

I may have missed it if you mentioned it earlier, but what's your issue with weapon swapping? My only delay is the time it takes to navigate the pip boy or the shitty directional on my gamepad. Is it not a near instant swap for you?
