The definition of insanity is getting a new Bethesda game and hoping that it will be any different than the previous ones beyond a fresh coat of paint.

Could have some fun with zero luck. Birds shit on you from time to time. Stop in town and stand still and dogs try and lift their leg on you. Gun will sometimes go full Bug's Bunny. Every so often you mistake the stim pack for some crazy ass med that fucks up your vision.

No agility, in addition to no vats you could stumble or fall from time to time. Lock picking would be almost impossible. Can shoot straight. Capped repair ability and construction also capped.

Intelligence, can't form coherent sentence. Hacking would be almost impossible. No perks for speech, fucked on prices etc.

List can go on and on for the others.

You can certainly make it so people don't want to drop them to nothing.
See to me the goal shouldn't be to provide meaningful penalties that would turn the game into some kind of hard mode, but would instead provide overcomeable penalties that make a playthrough more flavorful and interesting.

I look forward to all of you, especially Tuco, bitching how the game mechanics can be broken like a twig.

It's a Bethesda game ffs, if you go in armed with experience, the game will fall apart on its own.
Prepare yourself for the rage I will unleash on this thread when my quests break like they did in NV. Everything else from performance issues, combat mechanics and crashes I will be fine with.

I can't decide between popcorn or some fine cheese and wine.

I just hope that the first person I meet will have his head spin 360 degrees like the Doc in New Vegas. That was a wonderful welcome to that game.

Yeah, MS doesn't license anyone else to make wireless controllers. $60 for a wired controller is crazy, and I feel like that Vault Boy will end up coming off with any sort of serious use whether it's a sticker or printed.

lol @ $60 for a knockoff, wired controller built for an FPS.

The other big source of possible consternation is when I'm one of the ~3% of people whose system is somehow incompatible with the game until they release a patch two weeks post-release. Unlikely to happen though, my hardware is pretty common.

Dude, start playing New Vegas right now. You are in for a treat.

And will give you a strong idea of what to expect.

New Vegas will at least give you an idea if you like the newer Fallout games, but I don't know that I'd go hard on it on a few weeks prior to FO4 coming out. The risk of burnout is real.

Fallout 3 or Fallout Vegas is better? Coworker is interested in trying out the game before he gets FO4. I never played Vegas so I can't compare the two.

NV is superior in every possible way.

Edit: For mods, the bare minimum is Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition and DarNifiedUI NV.
