CoD with Diabolos and DW Thorned Mace/Cura staff (the 10 quartz one) seemed to be the best friend unit setup according to reddit-math. Unless you have Excalibur and Equip H Sword of course.

This is just a one and done, back to TM farming event right?

Clear once and finished, yep. Here's Dark Fina's AI data so you can be prepared: ai/205311001 - FFBraveExvius

So plan for all elemental resists except Ice and Holy, with Dark being the most lethal. Have an answer for Petrify, Confuse, and Paralyze. She also can MP drain.

The final stage is also like the FF4 Golbez stage, in that you need to kill all 4 previous bosses in the same dungeon before reaching Fina, so bring a lot of ethers / tent for extended battles.

CoD may be the best for damage, but I'm going to be using mine for support (aoe resist buff, aoe esuna) so I'm going to gear up my Noctis as the friend unit instead. Fina counters physical hits, so you may want to rely on 1-3 heavy hitters instead of pelting her with 5+ attackers per round, and triggering mad counters.

Any tips for the thorned mace trial? I tried once with a whale lightning and almost solo'ed it but got blowed up 3rd round.

Go slow on dps, don't aoe at all if possible. Keep debuffs up as often as possible on all parts. Each part has a % health threshold nuke that hits incredibly hard. If you AoE with a whale, you're very likely to die, horribly. Single target down each small part one at a time.

Focus down the small parts first, saving the center flower for last. If the center dies before all of the small parts, you auto-wipe.

Aquapolis event wasn't so bad, though my team's somewhat strong, so maybe my view is skewed. Noctis is amazing for this whole event. Fire Flask trivializes the first 3 bosses, and he's really good for Fina as well (save his limit for when you push her past her thresholds). I'll be leaving my friend unit set to Noctis with equipment for this event for the next few days.

dropping her below 30% and 50% in the same attack caused me to wipe. I didn't expect her to drop that low on my 2nd attack.

Yeah I took her to 15% on turn 1, totally not thinking about her ability thresholds. Noctis and Refia survived to finish her off, so it's a funny story instead of a frustrating one.

Despite all the recommendations not to pull, I did anyway. Tickets were burning a hole in my pocket. I unfortunately did not get a Dark Fina, but I did get a 2nd Noctis. I am sorta bummed cuz the collector in me would rather have a different unit, but Noctis is pretty damn good so yea...Spent 50 Tickets.

I am fortunate enough to have some disposable income, I drop $100 now and then when it's pay day, so I save up when I can. I haven't really pulled in a while so I had the itch lol.

It's hard for me to hold back on pulling also. Not because I want DFina, but because I want Zidane/Gilgamesh. The biggest upgrade to my team right now is another copy of dualwield. I may pull more than I was planning on the FFT banner, just for the extra TM potential from offbanner units.
