Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius

Amazon just added FFBE to their app store, which means you can spend coins on the game now. I've got like 3k left from Black Friday/Xmas promos where they gave away a ton of coins, so it looks like a good time to buy the Mythril Chest of Desire before this event ends. If you actually spend money on the game regularly, Amazon coins are always cheaper than buying stuff straight up with $ on any other store.

Buying the mythril chest through Amazon was easier than I expected. I thought I'd have 3600 lapis only accessible through the Amazon version, but instead all the items went into my messages to be claimed just like the daily rewards. I think if you buy just lapis you end up with it split from your Google or Apple version, but bundles work differently.

Great tip Vorph on the Blizzaga chain idea. Completely trivializes the elite event vortex since it 1 shots every wave, boss included with a single click of repeat (after setting the chain first wave). I'm using:

Ludmille with Ice Rod (mostly because he's not level capped, so free xp + TM)
Kefka
Kefka
Tellah
Golbez (don't have another strong Blizzaga caster)
Mage friend with 300+ mag

6x aoe ice nukes chained at once = dead soldiers...

Anyhow, this event seems easy to farm. After getting your first time completion rewards, you just run the non-explore vortex battle at 15 energy a pop. It's a nice break to be able to use up my energy bar with minimal effort for a while again, and the rank exp from this event is the best we've had yet (800 rank per 15 energy). It's nice, since I've been getting shit rank xp for almost a month due to pure TM farming.

I did a daily summon on the new banner, got Alma. Her TM isn't bad, but I have a lot of better TM's to work on first, and she's completely worthless as an actual unit (can't equip any weapons at all? Really?) so I'm done with this banner for now. I have like 30 tickets at this point and almost 10k lapis, so I really wish they would hurry and give us a good banner that's worth doing a ton of summons. I'll probably just buy a bunch of capacity upgrades or something while waiting.

Maybe someone can do the math for me. Is it actually better to farm pro than elite? 65 rank and 5 auracite vs 53 rank and 6 auracite, but would the extra runs from an extra rank or two make up for the lower average auracite?

Yeah I am really surprised I dont have enough mag either. Tried Terra with ice rod, kefka, golbez, vivi, shantotto. I have 6 hero rings, 1 earrings, 15 mag10% too. One knight always lives and then kills one of my mages. I need to look at easily craftable or buyable +mag hats and robes I guess. I really dont want to level Tellah or 2nd Kefka with my cactuars yet.

You should be fine doing Pro. My calculations for Elite show me being able to get 6* mats for Lightning and Exdeath, the katana and shield, 10 quartz, and at least 7 of the tickets. Even if Pro isn't as good, worst case you'd only get one set of mats but grab all 10 tickets.

Have you tried manually chaining each wave? Repeat is only for people who massively overkill it, because the order they act in is random. For manual chaining you can control it so that they cast from lowest mag to highest. The only exception is dualcast units; they should always go first regardless of MAG to maintain the chain.

For reference, my team is: Lightning (283 ATK because of Ice Brand), 5* L35 Kefka (209 MAG), Tellah (292 MAG), Exdeath (300 MAG), and Kefka (344 MAG). Most of my Kefka friends are in the 325 to 360 MAG range. This is overkill for waves 1-5, but for wave 6 I manually chain because there's too much risk of my shit Kefka going last and leaving the bosses with a sliver of hp. Need about another 3k auracite to 6* Lightning, and then I can use Enhancer with Ice Blitz and hopefully not have to worry about manual chains anymore.

Edit: Deleted Man-eater stuff, it's only for physical.

I was able to get it just now bringing in firion to bladeblitz and timing everyone. Might just farm pro so I can auto instead of manually setting up the blizzagas and timing, once it clicked to attack instead of swiping right and I had to force close and start over.

It took me some tweaking but I finally have a team that can steamroll Elite.

Kefka, Exdeath, Celes and Laswell of all units. I pickup a 300+ Magic friend Kefka or Exdeath. Then it's just chaining Blizzagas.

I think my priorities for this event are the katana, shield and tickets. Anything beyond that will just be icing.

Can I get a couple of you high end monsters to friend my alt account? Not linked to facebook so I cant use the add me group, and I need someone that can basically solo pro difficulty for the completion bonus.

When I went deep on the WoL banner a while back, I missed WoL but ended up with 6 Lenna and 4 Tellah. I was annoyed I didn't get WoL so I just fused together all the Lenna's and Tellah's in frustration. Now I really, really wish I still had multiple copies of Tellah for chaining potential, sigh.

Oh so you can run multiple copies of the same hero in one party? I didn't realize that.

Gonna be trying this once I get energy with Kefka, Tellah, Golbez, Krile, Vivi. All maxed level but Kefka the only one with good stats (ie over 300 mag).

I sent you a request Gavin. I am not sure if my CoD can solo pro, but it has maneater and the limit break almost oneshots everything. A big reason I can auto through it.

I'm surprised you don't occasionally get wrecked by wiegraf's confuse. If it were just damage I could auto it on my real account.

New colloseum's starting to get crazy. Advanced D-4 boss 1 shot my entire team on his first turn with his quake spell. I had to go buy 5 gaia gear armors and equip the whole team just to survive (and even with everyone having 50% earth resist, his quake left the whole team at ~20% life). He did die on turn 2 though, so it was just a matter of surviving his single turn to win. Feels like maybe they tuned ADV arena for mostly 6* stats.

Weird, it just hit me with a couple regular attacks and didn't use Magnitude 8 at all. Must be random rather than a hp threshold thing, since I left it with only a few pixels of hp after turn 1. Looking forward to finishing D-5 today for the first good reward. Boss is Io though, which is probably Europa on steroids by the look of it. Hopefully mage team with Lightning further debuffing its lightning resist will trivialize it.

Edit: Anyone else notice their whale friends jump like 10-20 ranks overnight? Guessing they are all chain-running Pro and using NRG refills. I'm sort of tempted to burn some lapis on that myself, at least to get my rank into the 60's.

I'm rank 36 which I figure is pretty good since today makes my 14th day playing. If I make it to rank 50 (or at least get close) before the event ends I'll probably dump some lapis into energy refills since in addition to crazy rank xp it's also more auracite. I've already got the first 4 summon tickets and the shield, and I should get the rest of the auracite for the katana today, which leaves 12 days of event farming to get the rest of the tickets and hopefully 2 sets of 6* materials. According to the math on reddit, pro farming will get you ~22k auracite over the event and elite farming will get you ~29k, and that accounts for the higher rank xp for pro.

It doesn't account for wasted sleep xp, and I always wake up in the middle of the night to burn off my energy. I'm not so much of a freak that I have an alarm set, I just sleep poorly. So when I inevitably wake up in the middle of the night, I take the time to spend my energy before going back to sleep. First time that sleeping badly has ever had a silver lining, so I'm taking full advantage of it. Also planning to do the chest of replenishment every day for the entire event, so between that and lapis refills once I hit rank 50, I should be able to get everything I want.

Also, for anyone having trouble magic chaining on elite, try ditching your weakest caster for a 2*/27 f2p Sarah. 40% mag boost song.
