Pulled on the debuff banner, then IMMEDIATELY regretted it as I have Faris's bow and should have saved the mithril for something else... but I got Fran's SSB bow (to go with her SB bow I already have) and Vaan's BSB Dagger, so at least there's that.

Any suggestions on what to put up as my RW? It was Jecht for boostga with a bunch of "mind", but would it be better to setup Faris's BSB once I have it mastered, or setup PCecil with his BSB?

Vaan's BSB dagger is game changing, don't regret that at all! It's my favorite relic and I try to fit him into every fight possible now.

If you have the relics, and are willing to change it each week, the latest hotness for the current CM is a good roaming warrior. For example, right now it's I think Maria's BSB for the mote dungeon CM.

If you just want a RW you don't have to bother updating every week, then shout, wall, or sheepsong are all solid choices, but they're also extremely common, so you would be just one more of the many. My personal RW is Cecil with his BSB and a bunch of +holy atk gear. He probably doesn't see much use in event fights, but an aoe nuke BSB is always nice for people running dailies. On average, I get 1-5 people to summon my RW per day. That 500 gold or whatever adds up! lol

Cecil with his BSB is pretty useful for a lot of people but, in my opinion, if Jecht has been your RW for awhile you may want to leave him. A lot of people follow RWs for specific abilities and if you're getting hits than people are relying on him.

My RW has been set to Leon for nearly a year. I know for a fact that some people follow me, specifically, for HOTE (I can tell based on their comment field). So I just stick with it since I know people want that buff. Besides the Gil income isn't a priority when it's so tiny even when I get 20 or 30 hits.

I run Shout. I keep it as Shout because I hate it when my Shout and SG RWs put up trash damage BSBs just because.

If it's Jechts Boostga you should be safe swapping though since nobody should be using that for Boostga.

If you do swap I'd do pecil's bsb. I used to get way more hits a day back when I had just pecil's 3 single hit holy sb than I do now with tyro's sg. There was a fight that required holy damage in an ff4 event awhile back and I was getting 20-40 hits a day while that was going on, but outside of that I was still getting 7-20 hits a day. SG I get 0-6 hits a day, with 0-3 being most common.

Got Fran's SSB (Gives Imperil Thunder) and Gabranth's Armor. Meh... hope to be able to scrounge another 50 mythril but it's unlikely unless they give out that 25 mythril.

It's extremely hard for me to resist pulling on this current banner for Ashe's BSB. I'm missing a strong mage dps slot for my mage team, and Ashe's bsb is one of the best. It's very high damage, along with en-element during burst mode on a good element (lightning). The relic itself also boosts thunder, which is just icing on the cake.

Unfortunately, FF12 is by FAR my best synergy realm. I think I can equip an entire team with synergy gear, so I'm not pulling more 12 items. I think her bsb shows up again at a festival later, so maybe I still have a shot.

Beat the cid mission for Ahriman without too much issue. His Maser Eye attack is kind of insane, and wiped half my team, but other than that, the fight was pretty easy (the surviving members after Maser Eye finished the fight in a few rounds). Make sure to bring a hastega, either native or RW, because the boss does an aoe slow around 65% life. I just focused the real ghost and ignored the adds.

The U++ Daedalus did a lot of damage, but with my high FF12 synergy, he went down really fast. I need to have a word with all the people a month or so back who said Ramza's BSB was worthless. It's been probably my most useful BSB for ultimate fights after Vaan's thanks to the stacking defense buff and extra holy damage.

Setups I used for the CM and U++:

The Ultimate fights are definitely getting a bit harder. It took me a few attempts but I mastered alol 3. I still need to do the CM though. I'll give it a try a bit later.

The CM is absolutely wrecking me this time around. I'd be fine if it wasn't for the Maser attack. But once he uses the attack it's an instant wipe or close to it. I'm having a hard time mitigating enough of it to survive.

On another note, I still haven't received the Halloween stuff we were supposed to get today. 25 Mythril, Witch's hat and a Pumpkin Thrown item. It seems a lot of people are having the same issue. It's really annoying because I was counting on that Mythril for my X pulls later this week. I assume it will get fixed since it seems widespread but it's still annoying.

double edit: You get one of each item mailed to you AND there's two of each item in the gysahl exchange. So if you played last halloween, you could have 4 of these fucking things. With the double greens going on, I might actually grind out to get an 7* (does it go to 8?!).

Goes to 8* with dark matter (also sold in the greens shop, and you should have some from events too). I bought both extras of the hat and raised it to 8* mage hat, and it's now my best mage armor before counting synergy bonuses. The weapon is kind of shit though, I wouldn't bother with it. Even if you combine it all the way to 8*, it's only like 115 atk. With synergy, it's good, except.... no one in FF13 can use throwing items except Hope, and he's a mage, so a physical weapon is worthless to him.

Angelwatch yeah that maser eye attack is nuts. I had to reload the fight a few times since it kept wiping me out. On my winning attempt, it only killed 2 people, and 3 survived, which was enough to finish off the encounter. That was with fullbreak, power breakdown, mug bloodlust, and Basch +30% def SB. I didn't use protectga or wall, which maybe would have helped more, but I couldn't really fit either for CM (haste RW is basically required due to that slow aoe).

ugh I didn't realize Faris's BSB was Full Break and that the commands gave ATK/MAG breakdown, so it's only two stacking ATK/MAG debuffs... Vaan's ALL stack with full break, which is pretty close to pants on head retarded AND it's instacast for the BSB and shortened cast time on the commands.

Looks like I found a new support character.

Haven't tried the CM yet but you can Mitigate a lot of Maser Eye. It only did ~1000 to my A Team. Try putting everyone on the back row and use those +attack&defence RM, it's a physical move.

EDIT: Forgot I won't have SG for the CM!

Beat the CM. It was, easily, the hardest one so far for me. It took a lot of tweaking and S/Ls until everything came together. It seems that one Maser is scripted but he can use it again after that.

Beat the CM. Feeling pretty thankful to have Fran's SB which does AOE magic and attack breakdown. Mug bloodlust, attack break and Fran's SB + timely defend helped on maser eye... until his 2nd one killed 2 of my units after. Good thing basch survived who saint crossed me to victory. Really considering R4-Ing it now, it's just so good.

The U++ though... really giving me a headache on how damn hard it hits. Will try after maintainence, which will hopefully come with 25 mythril for a pull.

Faris and that BSB is the ultimate support, with other options like Thief's Raid + Mug Bloodlust for abilities.

Vaan is OP bringer of doom and destruction. Even if that BSB didn't have the MAG/DEF debuff on entry, between instant cast on super-versatile Vaan and the Celerity commands it'd be in the upper tier of BSB. At the end of the day, he can't bring Full Break, so you'll still want to bring along a second support.
