All I know is I checked on a US server and had 130ping. Doing Mythic Nathria and high keystones in WoW with 120ish ping was really rough as a tank. Didn't wanna fuck with that again so I went Euro.

That shit changes like every 10 minutes. I was originally gonna make my guy on some other server but by the time I got done with customization it wouldn't let me, but it would on giglamesh?

It does indeed change constantly. keep trying. If you don't have any luck, come back at 2am.

Anyone make an foh link shell so some of us not on gilg can sync up? Can atleast join those cross server.

There is one, Pysek invited me. Maybe we need to give FoH people admin rights or whatever?

Guild housing would be cool but I bet it's a nightmare and very expensive?

I haven't played this since 2014 when I was vaguely endgame with decent stuff. Re-downloading it now. Anything in particular I should try to do to get current or shall I just wander aimlessly and follow quest markers?

Just follow the main story quest and you'll get there. Gonna take a while though.

Well, if you were already done with the original release content, that is something you at least won't have to slog through since it can take quite a while.

I got a dancer, red mage and samurai all around 61-62, to go with my 68 BLM for soaking msq exp. It looks like I have 38 more quests in the dragon song war before I get to the next expansion. I can feel the plot thickening.

Also, is there not a like general chat? Whenever I go through Limsa Lominsa the Bulwark Hall is full of people sitting around emoting and... doing whatever. But nobody ever says anything?

Well, depending on what they are "doing", it may be limited to /tell conversations. But I still see some people talking in /say there.

There are shout and yell canals but they are not used as general chat.

A lot of people mostly talk in linkshells or FC chats. As already mentioned, the ToS and three strike system if you get reported for some random bullshit you said in public doesn't help.
