Considering the cost though, it doesn't really matter what our priorities are.
Not sure if FC housing is separate from player housing, and if it is, if it costs even more. But it sounds like 100-200k for small, 300-500k for medium, and probably around a million gil for a large house. If FC is more, it's going to take a long ass time.
I stuck around a ... little longer. I want my fuqn crystals back ......My legacy character is level 6...that's how long I lasted in the first version of the game.

I think I'm going to forsake my Black Mage line (im at 22 thau, and 17 pug) and go for a warrior. Something about wielding a 2h axe just appeals to me. At 10 marauder right now.

Horseshit.
Uninstalled the entire game, did it again, still the same error. Ports forwarded. Ran as administrator. Set compatibility to Windows 7.
Switched to wireless off of the same router, it continued and got 1 more file. Then it gave me the same bullshit error on the next patch piece.
Deleted the entire FFXIV directory from My Games, still the same error. AV disabled, same error.
Time number 9 coming up. This happened during the beta too, I just got around it by using some reddit torrent of the entire game. That's not an option every time I want to patch it, and there's no guarantee there would even be a patched version posted.

Also most the people have gotten their EA code by now, so it's probably butter smooth.
The e-mail I got from them was post dated 3 minutes after I entered my code, but I didn't get it until 24 hours later. Their mail queue must have been huge.
Fuck, you guys are all wrong. The best method to staying awake is Peanut Butter Sandwiches and Milk.

So I had trouble getting the patch yesterday to work on the torrent I downloaded of the game for open beta. I had to do the following, maybe it'll help you:
-On the folder, right click, remove "read only". Make sure it applies to all subfolders
-Open the folder, go into the two subfolders. For every .exe file, right click, properties, at the bottom see if you see a button about "Unblock". If so, click it.
I had to do that to all the .exe files (like 3-4 in one folder, 1 in the other), then the patch worked fine.
