"Item level requirements will be added to high level dungeons (and trial fights). You may only sign up for those dungeons when meeting those item level requirements. Item level is calculated by the average of all items you wear (The average item level of your equipment will be displayed in your character window)."

Oh shit how are going to get L50 and still be wearing L10 items. Oh wait we just do fates to 50 and go 1-50 in a single day, nm alt crisis averted.

Basically just means you won't be running dungeons from 15-45 unless you save armor or buy it. But once you hit 45 you can just grab the AF shit and be back in business.

It's probably more for end game so you're not trying to run BC in shit gear.

Pretty sure they're saying the item level requirements will be for mainly the level 50 end-game stuff, including AK and what-not.

Grinding FATEs is still fine, especially since you'll drown in seals, and can get good gear from the GC.

Convert to materia. I don't know that it'd be worth selling anything for the 5 gil or whatever it gives you. Then again, the materia is pretty worthless as well.

Or you can do what I'm doing and level up every class so you can get rid of old shit. I'm up to 15+ on all my war classes, 10+ on magic, and if I cared about crafting anymore, I'd be at 15+ on those (still need armorer and culinarian).

Nothing about a spam throttle or the oh-so-hard to implement click->ignore? How about fixing the culling mechanic to only filter out non-party PCs and never NPCs? And while you're at it, change the party size to 6/12/24, make more ways to earn tomes than just running one dungeon over and over, remove the fucktarded bullshit where you can't do a solo instance while in a group queue, add an opacity slider to the chat window, add the option to display only your own debuffs and floating damage numbers, replace Xp rewards with increased gold rewards at level cap, and you might start to catch up with fixing the fucking obvious shit that anyone who has ever played a MMO would have told you about within a day of playing your game.

I think FFXI had party size and dynamics perfect:

1 Tank
2 Melee DPS
1 Mage DPS
1 Healer
1 Support

Obviously this changed later, and you didn't have to stick to it 100%, but in the beginning that was how it was and it proved for great synergy. Now I get 1 healer and 2 braindead as fuck random DPS and that's it. If we were 6, we would actually feel like a party and not just a couple of random dudes. 4-player parties really makes me one sad dude.

Yeah the 4 player parties they really dropped the fucking ball on. 3 other dudes is not a party, damnit!

so grinding fates at level 10 to 50 is a feasible tactic? just roam around zone looking/waiting? lol interesting but is it fast

You'll want to do the story on your first run through, after that FATEs are pretty much the only real option if you want to level in any sort of speed.

4 man is vastly superior to 6, you people are crazy and stupid. This way I only have to carry 1 shitty DPS and not 2-3 of them.
