Yep, they banned people with really large amounts of gil while they investigated it as far as I can rememberThis shouldn't surprise anyone. Their approach to RMT in ff11 was just as fucking retarded.
I wouldn't But speaking of, anyone know the last 'free' date for those of us non legacy folks who bought and played right at release? One of my friends just got banned with no explanation. He was like level 25, definitely wasn't cheating/buying gold, and I never saw him online unless he was actually playing. I'm getting kind of leary about giving this company my credit info.
In FFXI they would ban every few months, so sometimes people would think they got away with it and be hit laterWell there must be a certain threshold or buying from certain sellers gets you flagged while others don't.
Had a fc member send me 10k in game to help with getting crafting going along. Was like thanks but felt like I owed them something - sent tell saying they got 1 mill for 8 bucks and couldn't pass it up.
They are still online as of this morning -
So what's their process of picking
? You get flagged for 5 mill but not 1 ? Seems fairly random from the screaming I see on the forums from.
And is my 10k dirty money going to get me banned now ? Not worried just will be interesting to see how far they actually go down that money trail.
The game genuinely feels like the precursor to WoW. They're ten years behind the MMORPG times and have inexplicably opted to revert many of the genre's fundamental features to how they were before Blizzard improved them. I can't mention a single point where FFXIV delivers to expected standards for a 2013 game. Mechanically, the game is so extremely primitive that it's almost akin to DAoC, and the content is so basic and scarce that there isn't even really enough to engage an average, three-nights-a-week progression guild. The server infrastructure is a resounding failure, the developers have done practically nothing about anything for a month now, and the class balance is Everquest-like. Their customer service is mostly non-existent, and when it isn't, it's wildly incompetent and useless anyway. The journey up to 50, and getting your epic weapon is good. The game after that is utter trash, and you realize all the poor planning that went into this game.
