Odin last night most of our attacks weren't even registering. It wasn't even putting me into combat, I'd just regen everything instantly. I was definitely hitting him on my end - my logger showed 40k in damage. Oddly it only picked up damage from one another group member. At any rate, hooray bronze.

I should do that name plates thing on the PS3... that is awwwwful, half the time i can't even see any NPC if theres a fate swarm around (thankfully i rarely play on that thing).

I do have a question though, is there an option to turn off the "sticky" targeting? or whatever the fuck it's called. If i target one mob, then tab target another and cast a spell.. it always defaults back to that first target.
Incredibly annoying. I'm not sure if this is just a PS3 thing, but i assume it is?

I'm really looking to see if Turn 5 is doable without exploiting, as I've heard a lot of complaints from other free companies about < 50%

Yes it's turned on in PS3 by default, there is an option to turn it off somewhere.

If you're too lazy to craft find out what crafting mats sell for the most and go fucking farm them. Bunch of cry baby little faggots. Seriously. Oh no it cost me 3000 gil to fully repair my equipment woe is me. Go kill a dozen fucking mobs that drop trade skill mats selling for 1000 god damn gil on the market you lazy pieces of shit. The only reason to be "broke" in this game is fucking stupidity.
With language like that it's an obvious troll, complete with a wow reference in the next post, but hey you got me :p

Forcing people to farm grey con mobs just so they can run dungeons encourages bot behavior. I *could* use botany and harvest 100 items that sell for 1gil each (teleport bots have the market cornered, vendor them or hope they sell for 5-10gil), but then I actually lose money repairing my level 50 botany gear.

Selling on the marketplace aside, making Gil is too damn inconvenient to just keep even after repairs. Not that it matters, with the current end game as it stands, coupled with FATES the only way to level other jobs (or run the same dungeon 20 times :p) not sure how long this game will last anyway.

It might/probably have been tuned for full ilvl90 gear, which would still take a while for people to get. Might also just be untuned because they didn't expect people to get there so fast, which is quite possible.

On the above post, you can farm plenty of stuff that sells with a 50 botanist. HQ cocoons and HQ spruce still sells for a good price and only take a few minutes to get, clusters/crystals/shards sell for a solid price regardless. Not sure what's wrong with farming grey con mobs either, or you could farm hippogryphs they're like 46, that'd be ok right, they're not grey. Other than those, aldgoat, gigantoads, boars, peiste, snurbles, diremites, karakuls all drop items that are worth between 200 and 400g depending on your server and the fluctuations.

You can even make money running wanderer or AK, assuming you do it with a premade and open all the chests. Or Castrum. 125philos is 30k worth of money. Wanderer relic drops are still going for 5-10k each so you can split that. Chests are filled with those stupid coins that pay for repairs and more.

I mean come on, if you're not making any money, it's because you're not spending any time trying to make any money, not because it's hard or anything. With the current repair costs it's even easier. It's not that time consuming either. Farm for an hour will pay repairs for a week.

Honestly this post makes me feel a bit better ,as while I don't mind gathering some and eventually will hit mining or botany 50 , it will be a while.

I've got no issue though farming mobs for drops to sell , and as I haven't hit 50 yet I was beginning to think no mobs dropped anything worth over a gil even past 40.

If I can farm mobs that sell items for 200g I'm good with that.

I think the only worry I have at some point is where is the money going to come from in the overall economy a few months from now if the mobs aren't dropping actual gil themselves and quest money dries up and so on.

They're adding more gil sources in 2.1, and to be honest there's currently plenty of money going around from people leveling. Leves are also a way to generate money but I doubt enough people use them to actually matter on a global level. That said I can use my 6 leves a day and make 15k of money out of them for example, that's 15k that I'm not taking from another player but just creating(on top of that I also get like 4k worth of shards to sell to other people, or potentially more if I check weaver or leatherworker leves for leather/fleece rewards).

And yes you can absolutely make money "quickly" by farming shit. That said if it's camped it might be hard, but there's many different places to farm so that camping shouldn't be an issue if you're looking for money and not specific drops to level your own skill. Also a lot of it isn't max level, so you can actually go there early, or you can level alts killing those mobs(which is inefficient as shit in terms of xp vs FATEs, but generate a fuckton of money). I'm not even talking of leveling a few crafting skills to 15 then doing HQ of basic materials and selling for massive profit, but that tends to be more afking/botting since you'll need to craft a bunch of stuff for a while and it's not terribly interesting to do. That said you can make a killing on that and that doesn't really involve playing, just pressing macros buttons while watching TV.

As I pointed out though, even if you don't want to farm, gather or craft, you can still make money running dungeons, as long as you do it in a premade so you can share stuff and shit and you don't end up spending 3x more time than needed. Run CM a few times in a 8man guild group and everyone will be rich from selling their philo stones crafting materials(assuming you don't need them for darklight, but tbh AK gear is as good/better in many cases).

Obviously, you can't make money while doing nothing. That's like fucking obvious. Last I checked you couldn't in wow either. You have to run daillies or dungeons(and not wipe) to make any actual money.

I wish there was a trial for this shit. I want to give this game a go because with the exception of a few people, it sounds like some of you actually like the game. Green Man Gaming needs to drop its price to the floor ASAP. And yeah, it's already pretty cheap but next gen cometh so I'm pinching pennies like mad.

GMG has 25% off coupons, making the game around $22.50 which is a steal for Vanilla-wow class gaming that comes around maybe once every 7-8 years.

Tried that, don't think it's working anymore. I'll still probably just scoop it up this weekend, my reservations mostly come from not wanting to waste any money on another MMO I might not enjoy. After watching some videos and reading up on it, I actually think there's a chance I might like FFXIV though.

Can't believe how easy it was to get four of the five pieces of Gallant armour. When I think back on the sheer Hell it was back in FFXI earning those pieces I feel like I should slam my dick in the door a few times so I at least have a feeling of achievement.

Level 45 crafting leves give those (and the other relic ingredients) as rewards sometimes.

Did an 80min AK run last night. Was greeeeat. Bard in full DL doing 1/2 my DPS, gets the achievement for mapping the zone as he walks into the final boss room. Wiped 3 times on Wall, and once on trash.

The bard limit break needs to be changed. A ranged heal is bullshit for a class with no healing abilities otherwise. Actually, I have no idea if it's actually a heal since I've never fucking used it.
