I only need 1/3 a level until I ding 15 on my CNJ and can unlock PAL. From there (I'd be 30) am I still a decent amount of time away from dinging 50?

Probably not? It's not a long process if you decide to poopsock your way there.
I'd advise against this though.. you're better off taking your time if you don't want to get mind numbingly bored quickly

I'm going the story quest leveling approach. I was just wondering if there was a gigantic leveling curve after 30 or if it stays pretty linear.

Doing every dungeon helped entertain my group Tenks, they are nice breaks from the fate / questing grinds.

Yeah I've got Manor on deck once I get my PLD quest done. I find myself enjoying them even though I'm constantly nervous about not knowing the fights very well and fucking up the tanking. Although most fights so far haven't had an overly confusing mechanic except for Ire.

I might try to get my BRD there to get his relic taken care of, but I won't be around this weekend, going out of town.

I'm pretty sure both people on the ends of the keyboard for RP'ing would never work as "slutty cosplay." Pretty sure it is just butt fugly people pretending.
